This year's plum blossom season in Moc Chau (Son La) is considered the most beautiful in recent years. The clusters of pure white flowers are blooming densely, covering the valley, creating a scene like a fairyland.

Moc Chau Homestay is fully booked until the last week of February

As soon as videos and photos of Moc Chau plum blossoms were posted on social networks, they attracted the attention of tourists.

Right after Tet, the number of visitors to Moc Chau has increased sharply, homestays in the area are all "sold out". Many accommodation facilities are fully booked until the last week of February.

On Moc Chau review groups, there are constantly customers asking to book rooms. At its peak on February 8, many tourists did not book rooms in advance, and when they arrived in Moc Chau, they could not find a place to stay because everything was fully booked.

The roads leading to the plum blossom garden and valley are packed with cars from Hanoi and neighboring provinces, as tourists flock to enjoy spring and check-in amid the brilliant scenery of the flower season.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , the owner of the homestay Mama's House said that all rooms here are fully booked until February 23.

Plum blossom season is also the peak time of Moc Chau tourism in the year, so the demand of tourists increases.

Mr. Bui Van Hiep, manager of Moc Chau Hobbit homestay, said the number of guests increased sharply from the second day of Tet.

Previously, the cherry blossom season only attracted many visitors on weekends, but this year's plum blossom season, whether it's a weekday or a weekend, the room booking schedule is still fully booked.

"We have 20 rooms and all of them have been booked until February 16. During peak season, we still sell at the publicly listed price, ranging from 1.2-1.5 million VND/night depending on weekdays or weekends," said Mr. Hiep.

Multiple guests unable to book supported rooms

Ms. Dinh Thi Huong, head of the Department of Culture and Information of Moc Chau district, said that during the Lunar New Year this year, the number of visitors to Moc Chau doubled compared to last year.

From January 25 to February 9, Moc Chau welcomed over 200,000 visitors to check in during the plum blossom season. During the week, the number of visitors reached over 10,000 per day, and on weekends, this number doubled.

"Because the number of visitors to Moc Chau this time doubled compared to last year, the number of accommodation facilities cannot meet the demand for room bookings.

Before Tet, the Department of Culture and Information of Moc Chau district sent a document requesting accommodation establishments to pay attention to room quality and service, especially ensuring warm blankets for tourists during cold weather," said Ms. Huong.

When the number of visitors to Moc Chau was too crowded like on the 3rd day of Tet and February 8, many tourists subjectively did not book rooms in advance. When arriving, they could not book a room because 100% of the accommodation facilities were fully booked.

A network of accommodation establishments has been established to inform each other, and when there are vacant rooms due to guests canceling their reservations, they are continuously updated.

At the same time, the district also mobilized households with vacant rooms to create conditions for tourists to stay overnight without charge or with a small additional charge. Hundreds of tourists have been supported during this peak period.
