From August 13 to 4:00 p.m. on August 17, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) conducted 6 virtual screenings nationwide.

In parallel, Northern and Southern universities form two virtual filtering groups, performing their own processes to filter together with the Ministry of Education and Training's system to give the most accurate results.

The Northern virtual filtering group is coordinated by Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The Southern virtual filtering group is coordinated by Ho Chi Minh City National University. It is expected that the groups will perform virtual filtering about 10 times.

The virtual filtering software will filter out candidates who have passed their higher admissions to other schools from the expected admissions list of the remaining schools.

This ensures that each candidate is only admitted to one option in the list of registered options according to the principle of prioritizing higher options.

According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training, this year's enrollment system recorded more than 733,000 candidates registering for admission, accounting for 68.5% of the number of high school graduation exam takers and an increase of about 73,000 compared to last year.

Of the nearly 400 training majors divided into 24 fields, the four fields that attract the most candidates are: business and management, engineering and technology, computers and pedagogy.

Of which, the number of registered admission applications for the pedagogical group increased by 85% compared to 2023, equivalent to 200,000 applications.

Faced with this situation, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son predicted that the benchmark scores for the pedagogical group will increase.

According to an admissions officer at Hanoi National University of Education, the benchmark scores for pedagogical majors with reduced quotas will increase the most, possibly by 1-1.5 points compared to last year. The benchmark scores for the remaining pedagogical majors may increase slightly by 0.25-0.5 points.

Some other fields with strong growth in the total number of wishes are natural sciences (up 61%); national security and defense (up 46.5%). With high-tech industries such as semiconductor design, the total number of wishes increased by 30%.

Meanwhile, despite being the leader for many years, the business and management group saw a decrease of about 3% in the number of applications (equivalent to 24,000) compared to last year. The computer and information technology group saw a decrease of 5% in the number of applications (equivalent to 15,000).

However, the predicted benchmark scores for these majors at top schools are still expected to increase slightly.

Dr. Le Anh Duc, Deputy Head of the Training Management Department of the National Economics University, said that the school's predicted benchmark score will increase according to the general trend based on the average score of the block combinations increasing compared to 2023.

Accordingly, the benchmark scores for top majors are expected to increase by about 0.25 points. Majors in the middle may increase from 0.5 to 0.75 points.

Based on the high school graduation exam score distribution announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, universities predict that the admission scores for groups C00, D01, and D96 will increase significantly. The admission scores for groups A00 and A01 will increase slightly. The admission scores for group B00 will fluctuate little.
