Today (April 21), the deadline for registration for recognition as professor and associate professor in 2025

According to the schedule for considering recognition of meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025 announced by the State Council of Professors, candidates for professor and associate professor in 2025 must complete registration at theuniversity before April 21.

May 15 is the deadline for the basic Professorial Councils to submit documents to establish the council, including the decision to establish, the results of the election of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary of the council, the scientific resumes of the council members, the list of registered candidates, and the council's review schedule to the State Professorial Council.

From May 30 to June 12 is the training period for the work of reviewing and recognizing qualifications for the titles of professor and associate professor.

June 30 is the deadline for candidates to submit their application for review at the Faculty Council and send their application for recognition of meeting the standards to the State Council of Professors' website. Candidates from higher education institutions that do not have a Faculty Council must register and submit their application for recognition of meeting the standards for the title of professor or associate professor to the Faculty Council of the institution in which the candidate is applying.

From July 1 to July 22, the basic Professorial Councils will review the applications.

From August 29 to September 26, the Faculty Council of the industry and interdisciplinary departments continued to review the standards for the titles of professor and associate professor.

From October 20 to October 31, the State Council of Professors met to review and recognize the qualifications for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025.

According to current regulations, the work of considering and recognizing the qualifications for the title of professor and associate professor in our country is currently carried out through three council levels: the basic Council of Professors, the Council of Professors of the industry and interdisciplinary, and the State Council of Professors.

In which, the Basic Professor Council is the first level, established annually at higher education institutions that need to consider and recognize professors and associate professors.

This Council has 9-15 members who are professors and associate professors who are working and have professional prestige, and is established by the decision of the head of the school. To have enough members, the university can invite professors and associate professors from within and outside the country to participate or can cooperate with other universities to establish the University's Council of Professors.

The main task is to receive, review and evaluate candidate profiles. Each member of the Faculty Council is responsible for evaluating the legality and accuracy of the profile; photocopied documents; training experience and training results, scientific research of the candidate and writing a signed evaluation form, clearly stating the advantages and disadvantages of each profile.

Based on the evaluation form, the Faculty Council of the institution decides on the list of qualified candidates to present a general scientific report. At the same time, the Faculty Council of the institution coordinates with the higher education institution to organize an assessment of foreign language proficiency for professional work and English communication ability of each candidate.

The Faculty Council then holds a vote of confidence to select qualified candidates to submit to higher authorities. The application will only be approved if at least 2/3 of the votes are in agreement.

The results are then made public on the university's website at least 15 days before being submitted to the Faculty Council, the interdisciplinary Faculty Council and the State Faculty Council.

Last year, a total of 110 basic Professor Councils were established nationwide, with a total of 1,033 registered candidates, including 93 professor candidates and 940 associate professor candidates.

After that, 725 candidates were recommended by the Council of Professors of the institution to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards of professors and associate professors. In the round of consideration by the Council of Professors of the industry and interdisciplinary, the number of candidates recommended for recognition as professors and associate professors decreased to 630 people. In the final round of consideration - at the level of the State Council of Professors, 615 candidates were approved by the State Council of Professors (reaching 98%). Of these, there were 45 professor candidates and 570 associate professor candidates.
