Quang Ninh Province Journalists Association members actively participate in collecting waste in Ha Long Bay

This activity attracted dozens of reporters from central press agencies stationed in Quang Ninh province. The reporters, along with officials from the Ha Long Bay Management Board, collected plastic waste and pieces of floating foam in the Dam Bac Islet area, located in the core area of ​​the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage.

According to officials of the Ha Long Bay Management Board, there are many areas in the bay with holes and hollows created by cliffs, such as the Dam Bac island area. Here, after each rain or storm, marine waste will drift in, similar to nature's self-cleaning and self-collecting of waste.

While collecting trash, the reporters did not forget their duty of producing news articles, to bring the public vivid images and interesting information. Also during this trip, many reporters and journalists actively created works in response to the launch of the Quang Ninh Journalists Association on organizing quick compositions "Beautiful moments for a green Ha Long".

After an afternoon of hard work, reporters collected a large amount of bottles, plastic waste, foam buoys, and debris from aquaculture cages and rafts, etc. onto a specialized ship to bring them ashore for processing.

This activity not only helps protect the environment and beautiful landscape of the area, but also increases the community's awareness of responsible behavior towards the environment, natural ecosystems in general and the marine environment in particular, contributing to preventing pollution and degradation of the marine environment. The activity is also especially meaningful for Quang Ninh journalists during the special emulation campaign to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press on June 21 (1925 - 2025).
