Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Vietnam Traditional Association Division 470 celebrates 55th anniversary of its founding

On April 6, in Hanoi, the Traditional Association of Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Vietnam Division 470 held a meeting to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Division 470 (April 15, 1970 - April 15, 2025); the second singing exchange of the Traditional Association of the Division. More than 300 delegates from across the country attended this meaningful event.

Before the program, the delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the Division who died in the Truong Son mountains and forests, highlighting the solidarity in fighting on the battlefield of Southern Indochina and the friendship between the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia.

In his speech at the ceremony, Colonel Dau Xuan Tuong, Chairman of the Tradition Association of Truong Son Division 470, said: On April 15, 1970, the 470th Division Command was established, directly under the Truong Son Command, with the task of building and fighting to protect the strategic base in the border area of the three Indochinese countries; at the same time, it was the forward agency of the 559 Command, directly transporting and serving the battlefields of Lower Laos, Northeastern Cambodia, the Central Highlands and the South.

During the 1975 spring offensive and uprising, all forces of the Division participated in ensuring traffic on the Ho Chi Minh trail, contributing to the victorious spring general offensive, liberating the South and unifying the country.

Due to many outstanding achievements, the Division and 4 units and 2 individuals were honored to receive the noble title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. During the renovation period, the Division was awarded the title "Hero of Labor" by the Party and State...

On May 13, 2013, the Vietnam Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Tradition Association of Division 470 was established. Since then, the Association has maintained its regular and effective activities, achieving many comprehensive results. In particular, the Association has built 35 houses, presented nearly 3,500 gifts; celebrated longevity for members; nurtured Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, presented war relics, guided members in completing procedures to resolve outstanding policies... The Association has also been awarded the Emulation Flag, Certificate of Merit by the Central Association; Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister ...

At the program, the Vietnam Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Tradition Association presented a banner to the Truong Son Division 470 Tradition Association and Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the association's activities in recent years.

Also at the meeting, nearly 30 performances by non-professional singers and actors from the Division 470 Liaison Committee's art troupes across the country participated in the second singing exchange of the Division 470 Traditional Association, receiving enthusiastic cheers from the delegates.
