(Baoquangngai.vn) - The Provincial Women's Union organized a contest to "Find initiatives and solutions to raise children's awareness of gender equality and solve urgent problems for children".

The competition took place on April 23, attracting the participation of nearly 100 students and children from 6 teams who are members of the "Leaders of Change" Clubs in the districts of Project 8 including Ba To, Son Ha, Son Tay, Tra Bong, Minh Long and Nghia Hanh.

Project 8 “Achieving gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children”, under the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, phase I (2021 - 2025). The goal of Project 8 is to contribute to changing “thinking and doing”, eliminating gender stereotypes and harmful customs towards women and children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

The teams went through three rounds, including greetings, ringing the golden bell and a skit. In the rounds, contestants demonstrated their understanding and knowledge of children's rights, gender equality, reproductive health; prevention and control of gender-based violence, child injuries, child marriage; soft skills, life skills education for children, topics and concerns related to children in the locality; presented initiatives and solutions to raise children's awareness of gender equality and solve urgent problems for children...

The competition is an opportunity for students and children in the “Leaders of Change” Clubs to exchange, learn, share experiences, and contribute to improving the quality of club activities. At the same time, it seeks initiatives and solutions to raise children’s awareness of gender equality and solve urgent problems for children.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to Tra Bong District; Second Prize to Son Ha District; Third Prize to Nghia Hanh and Son Tay Districts; and Encouragement Prizes to the remaining units.
