Workshop on the role of family and clan in building a learning society

In recent times, the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education has actively implemented the models of "Family of Learning" and "Clan of Learning" with the aim of mobilizing people to study regularly and lifelong to enrich their knowledge, develop the local economy - culture - society, thereby building a learning society in our country. After 22 years of implementation, reality has proven the particularly important role of families and clans in developing the economy - society, preserving cultural beauty in villages and communes, ensuring political security and social order and safety through the implementation of learning models. The workshop is an opportunity for delegates and scientists to analyze and clarify experiences, methods and solutions to continue promoting the role of families and clans to build a learning society.

Speaking at the workshop, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, affirmed that the workshop is a very meaningful activity in the current context. The family is the cell of society, where the national cultural values are maintained and preserved for family members. The family is also the first environment to encourage and facilitate learning and promote the creative development of each person. Each Vietnamese family has gone through thousands of years of history and has made great contributions to the community and to the cause of building the country. Encouraging learning and talent of the families is a continuous task to promote the tradition of studiousness of children and grandchildren, contributing to building and developing human resources for the country.

He suggested that first of all, it is necessary to have a more complete and profound understanding of the role of the family in nurturing, educating and providing human resources for society, meeting the requirements of industrialization, modernization and international integration. It is necessary to strengthen the building of a learning society, lifelong learning, create a diverse learning environment, create conditions for everyone to have equal access to education, and encourage the spirit of learning in the community.

Each family and each clan must be responsible for creating learning opportunities for family members to gain knowledge and a cultured lifestyle, making the family truly a warm home for each person, a healthy cell of society, an environment for comprehensive human development. Each citizen must be responsible for his family and society and has the right to study regularly, study for life, take advantage of every learning opportunity to become a good citizen, preserve and promote cultural values, promote the tradition of studiousness, patriotism, and national solidarity in building and developing the country.

Party committees and authorities at all levels should step up propaganda work to raise awareness of the position, role and importance of families and clans in building a learning society; spread good traditional values of families and clans, cultural family models, create strong changes in educating patriotism, national pride, historical traditions of the nation, and building the personality of Vietnamese people...

The presentations at the workshop further clarified the role of the family in promoting lifelong learning of families and members in the face of current requirements; the core role of the Vietnamese family in preserving and promoting national cultural values; practical experiences, good practices, and methods to encourage children to promote the spirit of studiousness, preserve family traditions and education. The presentations proposed solutions to continue promoting and further enhancing the role of the family and family in educating the tradition of studiousness, forming and promoting cultural beauty and cultural values in new living conditions.
