VHO - On the morning of November 29, at My Son Temple Complex, the Central Institute of Social Sciences in coordination with the People's Committee of Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province organized a scientific workshop "My Son Temple Complex and World Cultural Heritages in the Central region: Reserves and prospects".
This is also a key event taking place within the framework of a series of activities celebrating the 25th anniversary of My Son Temple Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage (WCH).
The conference is a forum for academic exchange, sharing of views and opinions of scientists, leaders, researchers, representatives of agencies, departments and research institutes.
Contribute to building a scientific basis and assessing the current situation and potential, thereby proposing legal solutions and developing a long-term plan to protect, exploit and promote the value of My Son Temple Complex and World Cultural Heritages in the Central region.
According to Dr. Hoang Hong Hiep, Acting Director of the Central Institute of Social Sciences, over the past 25 years, the activities of preserving and promoting the value of My Son Cultural Heritage have achieved valuable achievements, integrating into the world's heritage protection trend, especially the implementation of the 2003 UNESCO Convention.
This process promotes the expansion of cooperation between My Son and international organizations, raising the value of My Son cultural heritage to become a model of regional heritage and a valuable cultural, historical and architectural asset of humanity.
The workshop also raised suggestive issues, discussed and made practical contributions to the activities of protecting and promoting the values of World Cultural Heritage in the Central region in general and My Son Temple Complex in particular.
Some opinions at the workshop also emphasized the value and importance of the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town. Sharing the impressive development steps of Hoi An in tourism, the effective connection between the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town and the World Biosphere Reserve of Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An, the cultural space of the countryside, traditional craft villages, riverside ecological areas,... in tourism development.
Many opinions have highlighted many scientific perspectives on the potential and value of My Son Temple Complex and World Cultural Heritages in the Central region.
Heritages are not only the cultural identity of certain communities or reflect regional nuances but also represent the cultural and historical traditions of ethnic groups in unity and diversity in the Central region, are important resources in sustainable tourism development and new measures and trends in heritage protection today.
