Ha Nam Literature Seminar 50 years after the country's reunification

Attending the workshop were comrades: Nguyen Anh Chuc, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Xuan Huy, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Department of Home Affairs, Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Literature and Arts Association of Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh provinces, members of the Ha Nam Literature and Arts Association.

In his opening speech at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Ngan, Chairman of Ha Nam Literature and Arts, affirmed the role of literature and arts in the resistance war against the US and the contributions of artists to the revolutionary cause of the nation, contributing to the victory of April 30, 1975, liberating the South and unifying the country. Especially 50 years after the country's reunification, Ha Nam literature continues to be a source of creativity, many writers and poets of Ha Nam have affirmed their creative careers, creating many valuable works promoting the literature and arts movement nationwide, in the region and in the province.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the Workshop will objectively and scientifically evaluate the achievements and limitations of Ha Nam literature (mainly of members of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association 50 years after the country's reunification) / Summarize some lessons learned in leadership and direction of the development of literature and arts and in the actual creation of poets, writers, literary theorists and critics. Orientation for the development of Ha Nam literature in the coming years, contributing to the implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress...

The opinions at the conference were highly unanimous in the assessment that: over the past 50 years, Ha Nam literature has made great strides. Ha Nam people who are members of the Vietnam Writers Association and other central professional associations living and working all over the country have valuable works and research on literature and art, some of whom have been awarded the State Prize for Literature and Art by the Party and the State, and have a worthy position in the literary world. Many writers and poets from Ha Nam have held and are holding key positions in the Literature and Art Associations of many localities across the country. The number of literary works and collected research published over the past 50 years is very large, with works and monumental projects that have created good resonance and spread good values inside and outside the province. Ha Nam's literary works are rich in themes, with content closely following core issues and current events, especially about love for homeland and country, agriculture, rural areas and farmers, revolutionary war, and the renovation process over the past 40 years.

Opinions also acknowledge that Ha Nam literature in the past 50 years has not had many great works, not many works of high quality in both ideology and art. There are not many young writers, poets, and female writers, and they are slow to be added. Literary theory and criticism are still at a level that has not created academic literary exchanges and dialogues to promote literary development...

To promote the role of literature in "Building and developing Ha Nam culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development", the representative of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department proposed a number of solutions that need to be implemented in the coming time: Party committees and authorities at all levels need to be more deeply aware of the role, position and importance of literature and arts in the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland. The Literature and Arts Association needs to promote the creativity of generations of artists in all circumstances, creating an operating environment for members to have works and projects that meet the requirements of innovation. Pay more attention to the theoretical work, criticism of literature and arts in terms of viewpoints, visions and thinking...
