This morning, February 28, the Department of Education and Training in collaboration with the Provincial Association of Psychology and Education organized a scientific workshop on “The impact of social networks on Quang Tri students today - Current situation and solutions”. More than 250 officials, teachers and students from a number of high schools in the province attended the workshop.

The report at the conference said that social networks, a typical product of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, are an indispensable part of today's life, greatly influencing young people, especially students.
The leading social media platforms in Vietnam are Facebook, YouTube, Zalo, and Tiktok. Some domestic surveys show that 90% of students use social media for 2 hours or more per day, of which 47% spend 4 hours per day accessing the internet and social media. According to a UNICEF report, 83% of children aged 12-13 use the internet. Social media is considered a daily activity by students.
The conference received 61 papers, the Organizing Committee selected 29 papers to be published in the proceedings, including 7 outstanding papers from units: Provincial Police, Department of Education and Training, educational institutions and students presented, focusing on clarifying the impact of social networks on students and solutions; raising awareness of using social networks to contribute to fostering revolutionary ideals, protecting the Party's ideological foundation; promoting the positive effects of social networks on learning activities; some coordination measures between schools, families and society...
President of the Provincial Association of Psychology and Education, Dr. Le Thi Xuan Lien affirmed that the conference has urgent significance; the presentations and opinions of the authors are scientific, practical and highly responsible. The conference has suggested ideas and scientific bases in the organization and management and in the practice of exploiting and using social networks by students as well as helping to limit negativity and promote the strengths of social networks.
