On April 21, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Provincial Literature and Arts Association to organize a scientific workshop "The development of Dak Lak literature and arts after 50 years of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025)".

After 50 years, the activities of Dak Lak province's literature and arts have achieved many encouraging results, developing both in breadth and depth. Every year, many works are introduced, many of which have won high awards in the region, the country, and internationally, exploiting a variety of topics, creating richness in the expression of works, fully reflecting all aspects of life. Professional and mass cultural activities have exploited the unique cultural capital of the ethnic groups in the area.

In addition, the work of collecting, preserving and promoting the cultural and artistic heritage of ethnic groups has been focused on. The provincial cultural sector has coordinated with central agencies to collect, compile, research and compile folk culture, rituals and festivals of ethnic minorities in the area, especially the two local ethnic groups Ede and M'nong. The province has paid attention to investing in restoring and organizing many traditional festivals, gong performances to serve tourism activities associated with building gong art troupes, especially community art troupes, young gong troupes in villages and schools. Localities have regularly organized ethnic cultural festivals with rich content such as folk art competitions, folk songs, folk dances, traditional musical instrument performances, culinary competitions, brocade weaving, weaving... and organizing traditional rituals and festivals of ethnic groups.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated to restore more than 140 traditional rituals and festivals associated with gongs. The work of theory and criticism of literature and art has made new developments, discovering the good, supporting the new, and making progress in creative activities. International exchange and cooperation activities in literature and art have been enhanced. Cultural development is closely linked to tourism development, promoting the image and people of Dak Lak to domestic and international friends, contributing to protecting and promoting national cultural identity in the process of international exchange and cooperation.

At the workshop, delegates discussed and clarified a number of contents such as: Preserving and promoting indigenous culture, current results and challenges in Dak Lak; improving the quality of education on traditional culture of ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands for the young generation and current students; research, collection and preservation of cultural identities of ethnic groups in the area, tasks and solutions; literature and art of ethnic minorities with the role of strengthening the great solidarity bloc, preserving traditional culture. Delegates also shared and proposed a number of recommendations on solutions to preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups associated with building typical tourism products; promoting traditional cultural values, continuing to build and develop literature and art in the new period.

Speaking at the workshop, comrade Nguyen Hoai Duong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department said that the workshop aimed to honor historical, cultural values, patriotic and revolutionary traditions, the results of collection, research and creation in the field of literature and art of Dak Lak province; express the sentiment and morality of "remembering the source of water"; contribute to preserving, maintaining and promoting cultural and artistic values ​​in the period of integration and development. Through the workshop, the organizing committee expects that scientists and experts will analyze, discuss and clarify the achievements and results of Dak Lak literature and art in the past 50 years; point out the shortcomings, limitations and issues raised in the field of literature and art; evaluate the introduction, promotion and dissemination and absorption of literary and artistic works of the province's artists to the public; Propose directions, tasks and solutions to continue developing the province's literature and arts in the coming time.
