Speaking at the opening of the workshop, comrade Tong Quang Thin, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, co-head of the Workshop Organizing Committee affirmed: The life and career of Dinh Tien Hoang De are closely linked to the process of unifying the country, forming the first centralized feudal state in the history of the nation, strongly affirming the will to revive the nation based on the spirit of independence, autonomy, self-reliance and self-reliance. The great historical stature, the national aspiration for an independent, unified, and powerful nation expressed through the life and career of Dinh Tien Hoang De and the Dai Co Viet State have become valuable assets, important material and spiritual resources of Ninh Binh province, of the nation and people. The life and career of Dinh Tien Hoang De and the Dinh and Tien Le dynasties have left a huge heritage system for Ninh Binh in particular and the whole country in general, not only rich in quantity, diverse in types but also very special in value.
Currently, Ninh Binh owns thousands of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, including 324 provincial-level relics, 78 national-level relics, 3 special national-level relics, 1 World Cultural and Natural Heritage (Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex). Heritages related to King Dinh Tien Hoang, the Dinh Dynasty and the Dai Co Viet State have always been preserved, respected and preserved in their original state by Ninh Binh province, including architectural works, hundreds of temples, pagodas, shrines, citadels, palace foundations... most notably the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Special National Relic Site, national treasures: Buddhist pillars of Nhat Tru Pagoda, 2 Dragon beds in the Temple of King Dinh Tien Hoang, 2 sets of Vietnamese royal regalia in the Temple of King Dinh - Temple of King Le, a collection of Buddhist pillars of the Dinh Dynasty at the Ninh Binh Museum; along with a system of festivals, cultural activities, worship rituals, beliefs, customs and practices; treasure trove of legends, poetry, folk music and dance; political and diplomatic experiences; the heroic spirit of Hoa Lu; the spirit of dedication that created the great achievements of King Dinh and his predecessors...
Through each historical period, the precious heritages of the nation continue to be preserved, embellished, enriched and always present in daily life as the spiritual foundation, invaluable assets and strategic resources for the sustainable development of Ninh Binh. Thanks to that, Ninh Binh has been and is a highly attractive address and cultural space, with strong enough potentials and advantages to build and develop a millennium heritage city in the coming time.
The heritage of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and Dai Co Viet State - the first centralized feudal state in Vietnam, has an important significance in the flow of Vietnamese national history, is the pride of the Party Committee, government and people of Ninh Binh province, therefore, the implementation of preserving and promoting values needs to continue to be implemented with greater intensity and scale, more systematically, requiring the participation of managers, researchers, socio-political organizations and communities... so that the heritage of our ancestors can truly become a resource and driving force in the development of our homeland and country.
The scientific workshop "Dinh Tien Hoang: Historical stature and national aspirations" was attended by many experts, scientists, and managers at the central and local levels. This is also an opportunity for Ninh Binh province to listen to scientific and historical research reports, and objective discussions and criticisms, in order to continue to supplement and clarify the life, career and contributions of King Dinh Tien Hoang in particular and the Dinh Dynasty in general to national history; propose directions and solutions in managing and promoting the heritage value of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh, contributing to building Ninh Binh province into a centrally-run city by 2035 with the characteristics of a heritage city and a creative city.
The report introducing the workshop presented by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Cuong, President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, co-Chairman of the Workshop Organizing Committee, stated: The purpose of the workshop is to continue to clarify the life, career and heritage of King Dinh Tien Hoang and the role of the Dinh Dynasty in the historical process of the Vietnamese nation. Thereby, proposing solutions to preserve and promote the values of heritage in the direction of promoting national aspirations, arousing the spirit of Hoa Lu to serve the construction of a heritage city in Ninh Binh, taking the heritage of Dinh Tien Hoang De and the Dinh and Tien Le dynasties as the center; building Ninh Binh into a civilized and modern locality, worthy of being a centrally-run city in the near future in all economic, political, cultural and social fields, and one of the famous tourist centers, attracting domestic and foreign visitors. This is also a practical work to celebrate the 1100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang (924-2024).
At this workshop, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province and the Vietnam Historical Science Association hope that scientists will focus on research and discussion to continue to supplement documents and interpretations to clarify the life, career, and contributions of King Dinh Tien Hoang in national history; the historical stature and national aspirations expressed through the career of Dinh Tien Hoang and the Dinh dynasty for Vietnam; at the same time, propose directions and solutions to promote the good values left by King Dinh Tien Hoang and the Dinh dynasty in the orientation of building a heritage city; in the current task of building and protecting the Fatherland, contributing to building Ninh Binh into a rich and civilized locality.
At the workshop, there will be 2 thematic sessions with the following contents: Homeland, background, career, historical stature and national aspirations of Dinh Tien Hoang; Promoting the heritage of Dinh Tien Hoang in the orientation of building a millennium heritage city.
