Comrade Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, chaired the workshop. Also attending were scientists, lecturers, propaganda officials of the Hanoi City Party Committee, representatives of the Bui family community in Vietnam, and family members of Mr. Bui Bang Doan.
Mr. Bui Bang Doan was born into a family with a tradition of scholarly achievements in Lien Bat village, Ung Hoa district, Ha Dong province, now part of Hanoi city.
In 1906, at the age of 17, Bui Bang Doan passed the Bachelor's degree examination and was admitted to and graduated as valedictorian of the School for Administrative Officials. He was subsequently appointed to various official positions from district to provincial level in Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh , Nam Dinh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Phuc Yen, Ninh Binh, and other provinces. In 1933, he was appointed Minister of Justice and a member of the Privy Council. In 1945, he became Chief Justice of the Hanoi Supreme Court.
Following the success of the August Revolution in 1945, valuing his talent and virtue, President Ho Chi Minh invited him to assume important responsibilities: member of the Presidential Advisory Board, member of the Committee for Research on Construction Planning, Head of the Government's Special Inspection Committee, founding member of the National Union, Head of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, and Chairman of the Central Committee for Evacuation and Migration.
The delegates' presentations at the conference focused on analyzing and interpreting the factors influencing the personality of the patriotic scholar Bui Bang Doan, including his family and hometown of Hanoi; they also discussed the milestones in his life, career, and immense contributions to the Vietnamese revolution.
