Workshop to announce the work "Poet, musician Ngoc Bai - author and work"

Poet and musician Ngoc Bai, born in 1943, birth name Nguyen Ngoc Bai, pen name Ngoc Bai, Nguyen Au Lau. He is the former Director of the Department of Culture and Information, former Chairman of the Literature and Arts Association of Hoang Lien Son province; former Chairman of the Literature and Arts Association of Yen Bai province, former Editor-in-Chief of Yen Bai Literature and Arts Magazine. During his life and creative career, poet and musician Ngoc Bai composed over 50 musical works, published 12 poetry collections, 2 epic collections, 1 poetry anthology - epic.

With his contributions, poet and musician Ngoc Bai has won many awards and noble titles such as: Gold Medal of Professional Art Performance in 1997; State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2012; 1 Liberation Medal; 3 Glorious Soldier Medals, First, Second and Third Class; 1 Anti-American Medal, Third Class; 2 Labor Medals, Third and Second Class, and many other commemorative medals and awards.

Having once fought bravely to protect the Fatherland, many of his poems and songs are associated with the themes of war, soldiers, homeland, and the lands he has passed through. Whether happy or sad, his works all come from the heart of a soldier. His poems are not passionate, overwhelming, or exciting, but rather tend toward calmness, gentleness, and depth, along with deep contemplations about the meaning of life.

Many of his songs have been performed and broadcast on Voice of Vietnam and Vietnam Television such as: "Homeland River", "Wind and Moon", "My Yen Bai", "Oath Between Clouds and Mountains", "Oh Ca Mau!", "Autumn"...

At the workshop to announce the work "Poet, musician Ngoc Bai - author and work" there were 5 presentations from delegates focusing on clarifying the contributions of poet, musician Ngoc Bai to Vietnamese literature and art in general, Yen Bai in particular. On that basis, pointing out some characteristics in approaching reality, building images, creative personality of poet, musician Ngoc Bai and affirming the achievements in his works.

The workshop is an exciting professional event for writers, literary researchers, and musicians, and is an activity to pay tribute to the contributions of poet and musician Ngoc Bai to the development of Yen Bai's literature and arts and the country's literature and arts. In particular, this is a meaningful activity towards the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification, towards summarizing 50 years of Vietnamese literature and arts after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
