On October 12, at Curtin University (Singapore), the Vietnamese Student Association in Singapore organized the first event “V-Challenge 2024: Intellectual Arena,” attracting the participation of many Vietnamese students in Singapore.
This is an attractive and practical intellectual playground, equipping Vietnamese students in Singapore with the necessary skills when studying and living here, while also "reviewing" knowledge of Vietnamese culture, history, geography... to convey the spirit of not forgetting one's roots.
According to a VNA reporter in Singapore, more than 40 Vietnamese students studying at university and college preparatory schools participated in the event.
With 4 rounds and a variety of question types, “V-Challenge 2024: Intellectual Arena” aims to promote general knowledge across subjects and practical issues in life, while creating opportunities for participants to practice situational analysis, problem-solving and important communication skills in today's working environment such as discussion, listening and debate between teams.
Student Bui Xuan Cuc, born in 2009, shared that participating in the V-Challenge event not only gave her the opportunity to expand her network of friends but also to practice teamwork skills and discover new things. With exciting competitions such as Golden Bell and IQ Quiz, Cuc believes that she will have memorable experiences with her team members.
This event, in the form of an academic competition, provides opportunities for Vietnamese students in Singapore to challenge themselves. These challenges include knowledge and understanding of the beautiful country of Vietnam.
Nguyen Dat Man, 17 years old, confided: “Coming to the Intellectual Arena today, I carefully read and learned the rules of the 4 rounds, as well as reviewed some types of questions to be able to prepare well for the competition. For me, this is a very meaningful event because this is where the community of Vietnamese students living and studying in Singapore can form a team to answer questions and overcome challenges together. That will be a very good thing, a bridge for us to become closer and more connected. In addition, there are many questions that require us to apply our brains, intelligence and use our knowledge, not only about issues around the world but also many topics about Vietnam. This helps us expand our knowledge as well as gain valuable experiences to continue on our learning path.”
In addition to the competition content, the event organizers also arranged a number of entertainment "counters" to help players and audiences relax and show off their skills in making handmade bracelets, knitting, etc. The lucky draw to receive gifts from the organizers made the event more exciting.
Speaking to reporters, Vo Nguyen My An, 19 years old, representative of the Organizing Committee, said: “As the Organizing Committee of this year's V-Challenge event, we hope to bring a healthy intellectual learning playground. With an event that has a high level of solidarity and teamwork, this event is expected to be an opportunity for students who have, are and have just arrived in Singapore to connect and get to know each other better, as well as develop soft skills such as debating, solving puzzles and teamwork... meeting many students and seniors to get more advice or good relationships for their future studies and careers.”
Previously, in response to the call for support for our compatriots in the North affected by the recent storm No. 3 (international name: storm Yagi ), the Vietnamese Student Association in Singapore launched a 7-day campaign to raise funds to support our compatriots.
The association's online fundraising campaign is even more meaningful as it spreads love widely in the community, uniting the spirit of young Vietnamese people in Singapore towards their homeland and country./.
