Provincial Farmers' Association deploys tasks for the last 6 months of the year

On the afternoon of July 4, the Provincial Farmers' Association held a conference to review the Association's work and the farmers' movement in the first 6 months of the year, deploy key tasks for the last 6 months of 2024; and award prizes for the 2nd Ninh Binh Provincial Farmers' Technical Innovation Contest.

Attending the conference were comrade Do Viet Anh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Dinh Hong Thai, Vice President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, President of the Provincial Farmers' Association.

In the first 6 months of the year, the work of the Association and the farmers' movement continued to be innovated in terms of content and form, achieving many encouraging results; the key targets and tasks were all achieved and exceeded the plan. Emulation movements were widely deployed, attracting a large number of members and farmers to participate. Thereby contributing to promoting the role of the subject and center of farmers in developing the agricultural economy and building new rural areas.

The movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" has focused on innovation and improving efficiency, associated with consulting activities, capital support, science and technology, vocational training, etc.

Specifically, the Association at all levels coordinated with the sectors to organize more than 900 science and technology transfer sessions for more than 46,000 officials, members and farmers; vocational training for 7,944 farmer members; and disbursed the Farmer Support Fund of VND 17,050 billion for 34 projects with 263 households in 8/8 districts and cities.

The Association at all levels supported 16 environmentally friendly sales points; built 28 models for processing and consuming safe agricultural products; established 3 safe agricultural product stores, bringing the total number of safe agricultural product stores in the province to 38. The province admitted 1,649 new members; established 5 branches and 38 professional associations.

Effectively maintain many models and projects such as the model "Qualified for safe food production, processing and trading"; "Environmentally friendly production, processing and service points"; "Pesticide-free fields"; project "Propaganda and mobilization of farmers to treat waste in Vietnam, contributing to the international community's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions"...

Promoting the achieved results, in the last 6 months of the year, the Provincial Farmers' Association continues to propagate and mobilize members to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, especially policies and laws related to agriculture, farmers and rural areas. Pay more attention to policies to support members and farmers in vocational training and job creation, enhance training and skill development for farmers and workers; support members and farmers to access loan sources to develop production and business.

Focus on establishing "Good Farmer and Business Clubs" at district and commune levels. Continue to implement the Project "Developing a chain of safe agricultural product stores for the period 2021 - 2025"; replicate the model "Point of sale limiting the use of plastic bags and single-use plastic products", "Environmentally friendly tourist service points"...

Also at the conference, the Provincial Farmers' Association organized the award ceremony of the 2nd Ninh Binh Farmers' Technical Innovation Contest. After 6 months of launching, from 14 competing solutions, the Organizing Committee selected 6 solutions to award 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize and 4 Encouragement Prizes. These are good solutions, applying many scientific and technological achievements to production, have been implemented in practice and brought economic efficiency.
