Provincial Farmers' Association held the 9th Congress, term 2023-2028

On September 20 and 21, the Provincial Farmers' Association held its 9th Congress for the 2023-2028 term. Attending were comrades: Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Dinh, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee; leaders of departments, branches, localities; Provincial Farmers' Association through the periods and 228 delegates representing more than 49,000 cadres, members, and farmers in the province.

The Congress summarized the work of the association and the provincial farmers' movement for the 2018-2023 term; reviewed the activities of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association, term VIII; reported on the synthesis of comments on the Documents of the 8th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Farmers' Association and comments on amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

Through discussion, the congress determined the direction for the 2023-2028 term to build a strong association, promote the role of the subject and center in developing agriculture, rural economy, and building new rural areas. Build the Farmers' Association at all levels in the province to be strong in politics, organization and action, to be the center and core for the farmers' movement and building the farmers' class.

Continue to strongly, comprehensively and synchronously innovate the content and methods and improve the quality and efficiency of association activities; effectively organize service activities, consulting and supporting farmers to develop production and business; improve the effectiveness of social supervision and criticism; actively participate in implementing national target programs, contributing to building "ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers".

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association for the 9th term, 2023-2028, consisting of 28 comrades; elected the Delegation to attend the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, consisting of 11 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates. Comrade Le Thanh Hung, Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial Farmers' Association for the 8th term, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association for the 9th term, 2023-2028.

Speaking at the congress, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council praised the achievements of the Farmers' Union and Farmers' Association of the province in the past term. He suggested that in the new term 2023-2028, the Provincial Farmers' Union continue to thoroughly grasp the directives and resolutions of the Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee on building the organization and improving the quality of the Farmers' Union's activities in the new period to all Farmers' Union and Farmers' Association; focus on innovating and improving the quality of campaigns and emulation movements in Farmers' Union and Farmers' Association; effectively coordinate and organize programs and projects to help farmers access scientific and technological advances, promote and consume products; build, develop and replicate new technical farming methods and link them according to the value chain; supply-demand connection activities, trade promotion; Support farmers to participate in developing collective economic forms in agriculture, contributing to the restructuring of crops and livestock, increasing the value of agricultural products, developing effective agricultural economy, improving income and living standards, contributing to the development of the province.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union awarded certificates of merit to the Provincial Farmers' Union; the Provincial People's Committee also awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2018-2023 term.
