Writer Bich Ngan confided at the press conference of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association on February 20 to announce information about activities of Vietnam Poetry Day taking place at the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations (81 Tran Quoc Thao, District 3).
Poetry Day will take place on February 23 and 24.
Young poetry playground, children's poetry playground will be the main force
Besides announcing the main activities of Vietnam Poetry Day in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Bich Ngan - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, hopes that the team of young writers and poets who write for children will receive much attention from the public.
"With the events promoting literary activities of the Writers' Association, you all did very well and enthusiastically.
We were very touched and often told each other: The Writers' Association is so poor, without many conditions, but every time we do activities, you still join hands, unite your hearts, and submit quality articles" - Ms. Ngan expressed.
Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association said that like every year, the young poetry stage is the main force of Vietnam Poetry Day.
"When they actively write and compose poetry, they prove that they are not only pursuing a living and economic goals, but that literary activities have nurtured their souls and helped them grow up with the city," said a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association.
The Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association will connect with young, talented poets who are not yet members by creating a young poetry playground.
The poetry collection A Day from the Inside by young poet Minh Anh won the A prize of the Vietnam Literature and Arts Award.
The Young Poetry Stage introduces new faces in the literary world such as: Minh Anh, Tran Duc Tin, Tran Van Thien, Huynh Trong Khang, Huynh Huu Phuoc...
Among them, there are people who are still students but have won many literary awards.
For example, Minh Anh, a girl who is only 16 years old, has just won the A prize of the Vietnam Literature and Arts Award with the poetry collection A Day from the Inside .
On the morning of February 24, at the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations (81 Tran Quoc Thao, District 3), there will be a book signing and exchange session with young poets and writers.
This year, there is an additional children's poetry stage organized for the first time to encourage authors to compose works for children and to raise issues related to children's literature.
The Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association also believes that when caring about the young generation of writers, it is also necessary to think about the future of children.

From Poetry Day 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association will implement the 50-year literature and art project approved by the city.
It is an organization that prints and widely distributes books of good poems (including music) set to music.
The book will include original versions of famous poems set to music.
The Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association added that Vietnam Poetry Day is held on the occasion of the Lantern Festival, so it will have a significant additional budget compared to last year. The total budget for the organization is about 400 million.
This will be an opportunity to develop Vietnam Poetry Day into a major cultural event of Ho Chi Minh City.
