Online conference on income asset control

On the morning of December 20, the Government Inspectorate held an online conference on asset and income control. Comrade Bui Ngoc Lam, member of the Party Committee, Deputy Inspector General of the Government chaired the conference at the Hanoi bridge.

Attending the conference at the Ninh Binh provincial bridge were leaders of the Provincial Inspectorate; provincial departments, branches and sectors; People's Committees of districts and cities.

The 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption (AC) has many new provisions on measures to prevent, detect and handle corruption. One of the important new points is the regulation on controlling assets and income of people holding positions and powers in agencies, organizations and units.

However, from the practical implementation of asset and income control measures in the past time according to the Anti-Corruption Law and Decree 130/2020/ND-CP, there have been difficulties and shortcomings mainly focusing on the implementation of declaration and verification of assets and income.

Therefore, the conference was organized by the Government Inspectorate to contribute to summarizing the implementation of asset and income declaration and proposing solutions and recommendations to remove arising difficulties and inadequacies.

At the conference, delegates from central ministries, branches, and provincial inspectors raised difficulties and obstacles and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of asset and income declaration. Opinions focused on the following contents: determining subjects obliged to declare assets and income; basis for determining asset value; methods and specific instructions on asset and income declaration; principles of verification and authority to verify assets and income, etc.

A number of issues have been explained, clarified and guided by the Government Inspectorate representative to ensure consistency according to regulations. This has created an important basis for transparency and gradually perfected the mechanism for controlling assets and income of the whole society.

The opinions and proposals at the conference were compiled by the Government Inspectorate to propose and recommend to the Government and the National Assembly to soon amend and supplement laws and decrees to continue perfecting institutions, removing obstacles and shortcomings, and better implementing the work of controlling assets and income.
