On the morning of January 10, the Central Commission for Internal Affairs held a national online conference to review the work of the Party's Internal Affairs sector and the activities of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity in 2023; and deploy directions and tasks for 2024.
Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity attended and directed the conference.
At the Ninh Binh bridge, comrade Doan Minh Huan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Activities attended and chaired the conference. Also attending were members of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Activities; leaders of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee; specialized agencies, advisory agencies of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and units.
In 2023, the Party's Internal Affairs sector and the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity have made great efforts to successfully complete the tasks according to the set programs and plans. Notably, they have paid attention to and promoted the research, consultation, proposal and implementation of the Party's major viewpoints, policies and orientations, and the State's laws on internal affairs, anti-corruption and negativity. The Central Internal Affairs Commission researched, developed and submitted to the Politburo and the Secretariat 7 major projects, developed 100 reports, and proposed major policies and guidelines; the Provincial and Municipal Party Committees' Internal Affairs Commissions advised Party committees to develop and issue 2,758 documents to specify and institutionalize the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's laws on internal affairs, anti-corruption and negativity, and judicial reform.
The work of guiding, urging, inspecting and supervising has many innovations, the quality and efficiency have been improved. The Provincial Internal Affairs Committee coordinated with the Inspection Committee at the same level to conduct 216 inspections and supervisions and directly deployed 312 inspections and supervisions, focusing on areas and fields with many prominent issues and public concerns about corruption and negativity. At the same time, presided over and coordinated to help the Party Secretary organize 881 meetings and dialogues with 4,700 citizens, received and advised on the handling of 54,795 petitions, letters of reflection, complaints and denunciations. Advised on the final handling of mass, complicated and prolonged complaints and denunciations, contributing significantly to limiting the emergence of hot spots and maintaining local security and order.
The entire sector has advised on the development and effective implementation of anti-corruption and anti-negativity work at both the central and local levels; strengthened training and professional guidance, and built a truly "loyal, courageous, honest, and creative" Party Internal Affairs sector.
At the conference, delegates actively discussed and focused on evaluating the results of the industry's work in 2023 and proposed many solutions to effectively carry out the tasks in 2024.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity, acknowledged and commended the efforts and achievements of the Party Internal Affairs sector in 2023.
He emphasized: 2024 is a year of special significance in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, requiring the Party Internal Affairs sector and the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity to identify the fight against corruption and negativity as one of the key tasks and breakthroughs with the motto of resolutely and persistently fighting to prevent and repel corruption with higher political determination, stronger and more effective actions, proactively detecting and preventing in a timely manner; handling corruption and negativity cases "without forbidden areas, without exceptions". Focus on promoting prevention of corruption and negativity in the direction of going into depth, clearly demonstrating the prevention "from early, from afar". Continue to promote the exemplary role of cadres and party members, self-reflect, self-correct, promote the role of leaders in performing tasks, coordinate to promote the strength of the entire political system and the people to continue to consolidate and build the great national unity bloc.
