National online conference summarizing the work of the Inspection sector in 2024

On the morning of December 28, the Government Inspectorate held a national online conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025. Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh - Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government. On the side of Nghe An province, comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and chaired the conference.

In 2024, despite the large workload, including many tasks and unexpected inspections, the Government Inspectorate was proactive and flexible to ensure timeliness and efficiency.

The inspection content has a focus and key points; especially, it has focused on completing a number of large-scale thematic inspections nationwide under the direction of the Steering Committee and the Prime Minister. In the work of receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations; the rate of resolving cases under its authority reached 85.4%, higher than the target set by the Government. In the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity, the control of assets and income has been strengthened.

For Nghe An province, in 2024, through inspection, decisions were issued to recover more than 67 billion VND and over 7,000 m2 of land; administrative violations were fined nearly 4 billion 900 million VND; recommendations were made to review 300 organizations and more than 1,400 individuals with violations; 02 cases were transferred to the Investigation Agency. Through handling complaints and denunciations, recommendations were made to recover more than 175 thousand m2 of land for the State; more than 2 thousand m2 of land was returned to organizations and individuals. Regarding anti-corruption work, recommendations were made to review and learn from experiences for 86 organizations and 587 individuals with violations, disciplinary action was taken against 01 official with violations of professional ethics with the form of reprimand; job positions of 635 people with positions and powers were transferred.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Government Inspectorate and the Inspection sector in 2024.

Regarding the tasks in 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister basically agreed with the groups of tasks set out in the report such as: Continuing to focus on effectively implementing the resolutions and directions of the Government and the Prime Minister related to inspection activities. Proactively innovating in organizing, developing and implementing inspection plans in a focused and key direction.

Strengthening publicity and transparency in inspection activities; improving discipline, administrative discipline, and public ethics in inspection activities, especially strictly implementing Regulation No. 131-QD/TW dated October 27, 2023 of the Politburo on controlling power, preventing and combating corruption and negativity in inspection, supervision, and enforcement of party discipline and in inspection and auditing activities; Directive No. 26/CT-TTg dated October 20, 2023 of the Prime Minister on rectifying and strengthening inspection, examination, and supervision of public service activities.

Continue to effectively implement the Law on Citizen Reception, the Law on Complaints, the Law on Denunciations, directives and resolutions of the Central Committee, the National Assembly, and directions of the Government and the Prime Minister on this work.

Synchronously implement policies and laws on corruption prevention and control, especially the Law on Corruption Prevention and Control, conclusions and directives of the Politburo and the Secretariat on corruption prevention and control, and the National Strategy on corruption prevention and control to 2030.

To realize the identified solutions, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh requested the Government Inspectorate and the Inspection sector to continue to innovate their thinking, clearly define the assigned functions and tasks so that inspection and examination must serve well the goal of perfecting mechanisms and policies; serve and effectively support the goal of socio-economic development; inspection must serve the direction and administration of the Government, the Party and the State as well as contribute to the evaluation of cadres, helping the Party have a more correct view of the cadre team.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested that assigned fields and tasks must be carried out synchronously and effectively; especially, it is necessary to review and overcome the shortcomings and limitations that have been identified and pointed out.

Regarding the work of preventing and combating corruption and waste, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh requested the Government Inspectorate and inspectors of ministries, branches and localities to step up information and propaganda work so that each citizen, each cadre, civil servant and public employee can clearly identify what waste is, thereby actively participating and improving the effectiveness of preventing and combating corruption and waste...
