National conference on judicial work deployment in 2024

At the conference, delegates exchanged and discussed the results achieved in 2023; the practice of judicial work in units and localities; clearly stated and analyzed the existing points, limitations and causes; made proposals and recommendations...

At the same time, we highly agree with the judicial tasks in 2024 and the work orientation until the end of the 2021-2026 term set forth by the Ministry of Justice. The key tasks in 2024 that the leaders of the Ministry of Justice require special attention are: Timely dissemination, timely and complete institutionalization and effective implementation of resolutions, directives, conclusions, and directives of superiors. Effectively implement the law and ordinance making program of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Strictly implement the Politburo's regulations on controlling power, preventing corruption and negativity in investigation, prosecution, trial and execution activities. Continue to focus on timely and effectively implementing the tasks of the sector according to Project No. 06 of the Prime Minister.

Strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of state management and the quality of public services in the fields of civil status, nationality and authentication. Actively and proactively advise the Government in resolving international investment disputes and effectively carry out international cooperation in law-making. Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang suggested that the judiciary sector should pay attention to building and perfecting institutions in a timely and quality manner; focus on proposing amendments to the law on promulgation of legal documents; amend and recalculate the law and ordinance building program for 2024 and the following years.

Conduct timely and accurate appraisal of proposals, projects, and drafts; improve the quality of law enforcement; remove obstacles in current regulations; focus on administrative procedure reform and digital transformation...

The report at the conference stated: In 2023, the judicial sector proactively and urgently deployed and implemented key tasks and promptly developed, issued, and adjusted programs and plans to implement tasks in order of priority. Thanks to that, all areas of work achieved outstanding results.

The work of building and perfecting institutions and laws has been given attention and focused on drastic implementation. Attention has been paid to the inspection and review of legal documents, contributing to ensuring the consistency, openness, transparency and feasibility of the legal system. The participation of legal opinions with the Government and authorities at all levels in socio-economic development has been increasingly appreciated.

Communication, dissemination of policies, laws, and grassroots mediation have made new progress. The electronic civil status database has been built, operated effectively, maintained connection, and shared smoothly with the national population database. Civil enforcement has made many advances. From October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023, civil enforcement agencies have completed 575,667 cases, an increase of 6.75% over the same period in 2022.

Legal aid work has achieved many impressive results, especially in establishing a direct legal aid mechanism in criminal investigations nationwide. In 2023, 38,371 legal aid cases were received and resolved...
