The 3rd Central Executive Committee Conference of the Vietnam Cambodia Friendship Association, Term V

On the morning of January 6, at Bai Dinh Hotel, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association held the 3rd Central Executive Committee Conference, term V, term 2021-2026 to summarize and evaluate the results of implementing tasks in 2023 and set out directions and tasks for 2024.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation Affairs Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association attended and chaired the conference. The conference was attended by representatives of the Central External Relations Committee and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

On the side of Ninh Binh province, attending the conference were comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of a number of departments, branches and sectors of the province.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: Vietnam and Cambodia are two close neighboring countries with a long-standing traditional relationship. Throughout history, the two peoples have united, shared, overcome many ups and downs, and built a relationship of "good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability".

Comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the conference.

Sharing information on the province's socio-economic development results in 2023 and the activities of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Ninh Binh province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: The Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Ninh Binh province was established in 2012, formerly the Association of Former Officials and Experts of the province working in Cambodia. Over the years, with the attention of the province, the Association has made important contributions to building, organizing activities, expanding cooperation, exchanges and contributing to the success of the province's people's foreign affairs.

The 3rd Central Executive Committee Conference of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, Session V, held in Ninh Binh Province is a valuable opportunity for Ninh Binh to exchange, learn from experience and introduce to international friends the development, as well as the potential and advantages of Ninh Binh. With the achievements of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association in 2023, he believes that the Conference will be successful, achieving many good results, continuing to contribute positively to strengthening and consolidating the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, bringing the friendship between the two countries and peoples to a new height.

At the conference, delegates listened to a report summarizing the work in 2023 and deploying key tasks in 2024 of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association.

Accordingly, in 2023, despite the complicated developments in the world situation and unpredictable risks, the Association at all levels has made great efforts to complete a huge amount of work, actively contributing to consolidating and strengthening the solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The work of building, consolidating and developing a strong Association organization has always received special attention from all levels of the Association. External affairs, organizing events, cooperating and exchanging delegations, meetings and friendly exchanges have taken place actively, with rich and practical content, diverse forms and have a profound social impact.

In particular, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association and the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Association successfully held a Conference to review 1 year of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on coordination of activities between the two Associations for the period 2022-2026.

Information, propaganda and education work for members and people of all walks of life, especially the younger generation, about the tradition of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia has had many positive changes. The work of nurturing friendship continues to be implemented as planned. The number of Cambodian students studying in Vietnam sponsored by the Association in the 2023-2024 school year has met and exceeded the set target. Activities of gratitude, comradeship, volunteering, etc. have been carried out continuously and widely at all levels of the Association.

The conference focused on discussions to analyze and evaluate the achieved results, point out difficulties and limitations, and propose and agree on tasks and solutions to successfully carry out the tasks in 2024 and the following years.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation Affairs Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association delivered the closing speech at the conference.

In her closing speech, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh, President of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association affirmed: In the spirit of urgent, democratic and responsible work, the 3rd Plenary Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, term 2021 - 2026, has completed all the contents and programs set out.

To effectively implement the directions and tasks in 2024; to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Victory Day of the Southwestern Border Defense War and together with the Cambodian army and people to overthrow the genocidal regime (January 7, 1979 - January 7, 2024), towards the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association (January 22, 1975 - January 22, 2025), he suggested that after the Conference, the provincial and municipal Associations and their affiliated Association units coordinate to disseminate and thoroughly understand the Conference results to cadres and members; meet to discuss and develop an action plan for 2024 in accordance with the characteristics and situation of each Association level. At the same time, continue to promote the work of building, consolidating and developing a strong Association organization in both awareness and action.

Continue to promote information, propaganda, and education for members and people of all walks of life about the solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia. Actively coordinate and have appropriate forms of struggle against acts of sabotage, division, and distortion of historical truth about the good relationship between the people of the two countries by some hostile forces.

Effectively implement the Friendship Incubation Program in accordance with the direction of the Secretariat and replicate models of community support activities, gratitude, camaraderie, charity and humanitarian activities, etc.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh, President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, awarded Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Association to individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of building the organization and activities of the Association in 2023.

On this occasion, many individuals were awarded the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Medal by the Central Committee of the Association; many collectives and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Committee of the Association for their outstanding achievements in the work of building the organization and activities of the Association in 2023.
