This afternoon, January 5, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) held a launching ceremony for the 2024 Working Theme on "Enhancing the application of information technology in union activities", the Contest "Application of information technology in organizing union activities" and the Contest for composing songs praising Vietnamese women and mothers.

Implementing a breakthrough in innovating the association's operation methods, focusing on the application of information technology (IT), promoting propaganda to implement the emulation movement to build Vietnamese women of the new era in the period of 2022-2027, and at the same time contributing to the implementation of the National Digital Transformation Program, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union chose the working theme for 2024 as "Enhancing the application of IT in association activities".
The Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress identified one of the two breakthroughs of the term as innovating the association's operation methods, focusing on the application of IT. The strategy for developing the Vietnam Women's Union until 2025, with a vision to 2030, also identifies the application of IT as the basis, condition, and premise for the Women's Union to strongly innovate its organization and operations.
The theme "Enhancing the application of IT in association activities" is the determination of women's associations at all levels in the journey of digital transformation, contributing to building a national digital transformation ecosystem.
Accordingly, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union requires women's unions at all levels to carry out the breakthrough "Innovation in union operation methods, focusing on IT application" which must be carried out simultaneously with the breakthrough "Focus on building a strong union base".
Promote the application of IT in activities suitable to the realities of each locality, unit and the conditions and capacity of women of all classes, effectively participating in the national digital transformation process.
Every year, at least 70% of central and provincial communication documents are digitized and transmitted on the association's official media and social networking platforms. Strengthen propaganda, raise awareness, and foster IT access capacity for officials, members, and women; promote digital communication on central to local websites.
Strive to pilot the application of "Vietnamese Women" in 2024 and by the end of the 2022-2027 term, build an electronic data catalog to serve the activities of the association; 100% of grassroots Women's Unions are equipped with computers with internet connection and apply software deployed in the association system.
To concretize the theme of 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union launched the Contest "Application of IT in organizing union activities", aiming to find good, creative, highly effective, easy-to-apply solutions, contributing to innovating the union's operation methods, attracting members. From there, attracting more and more women to participate in the union and its activities. This can be considered a comprehensive innovation revolution, gradually bringing digital transformation into the activities of the Women's Union.
2024 is also the year that women's associations at all levels will strongly implement the emulation movement to build the image of a modern, brave, dynamic, kind-hearted, knowledgeable, healthy, ethical, skilled Vietnamese woman, responsible for herself, her family, society, and country, but still preserving traditional values in the role of mother, wife, and sister in the family.
Especially, in the post-COVID-19 context, many orphans lack the figure and care of their parents and relatives. More than ever, women with kind-hearted virtues have not hesitated to support, care for, and raise orphans, bringing them the warmth of family love and supporting them on their journey to the future.
The songwriting contest praising Vietnamese women and mothers is to create works of art to praise and honor the love, compassion, sacrifice, will to rise up and the role of Vietnamese women.
