The 2024 Agricultural and Rural Communication Training Course took place over 2 days, attracting nearly 100 officials and members of the Gardening and Farming Association across the province to attend.

On the first day of the training session, the Association organized for delegates to visit a comprehensive fruit farm in Bac Son ward, Bim Son town. This is a regular activity that the Thanh Hoa Province Gardening and Farming Association incorporates into annual training conferences, to help members have the opportunity to exchange, meet, and learn from each other in economic development.

Delegates visited Tien Nong Plant Nutrition Factory; learned about the role of nutrition for crops as well as improving agricultural production processes. Here, Thanh Hoa Gardening and Farming Association coordinated with Tien Nong Agricultural Industry Joint Stock Company to organize a Training Conference to guide the conditions for granting VietGAP certification in agricultural production. Experts introduced VietGAP processes and standards in cultivation and animal husbandry; shared the benefits and goals; and introduced procedures, difficulties and solutions in the process of applying for VietGAP certification... Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Doan, member of the Gardening and Farming Association of Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province said: "Through the training sessions, I found it very useful. I hope that in the future, we will continue to learn more, so that we can make VietGAP products that ensure quality for consumers".

Mr. Ha Anh Duy, Deputy Director of Tien Nong Plant Nutrition Factory
Mr. Ha Anh Duy, Deputy Director of Tien Nong Plant Nutrition Factory said: "The company has actively coordinated to organize training courses for members so that they can absorb and implement programs for farms and businesses."

At the 2024 Agricultural and Rural Communication Training Conference, held in Thanh Hoa city, delegates listened to two topics: A reporter from Tien Nong Agricultural and Industrial Joint Stock Company introduced the agricultural practice process in cultivation according to VietGAP standards. A reporter from Thanh Hoa Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection introduced the regulations on granting and managing codes for growing areas and packaging facilities according to TCCS 774:2020/BVTV standards; Procedures for establishing and monitoring growing areas; Procedures for establishing and monitoring packaging facilities; general regulations on Plant Quarantine and food safety control of importing countries...

Through the training conference, delegates have access to information, knowledge, and general regulations on VietGAP and Growing Area Codes, which can be applied in practice at their units to create quality products, meeting the increasingly high demands of the domestic and export markets. At the same time, it creates conditions for delegates to share opinions and exchange experiences on difficulties and obstacles in the production process, thereby finding a direction for stable and sustainable production development.
After the training, the Gardening and Farming Associations of districts, towns and cities across the province actively implemented practical activities in the localities, propagating and disseminating knowledge and experience for members to apply in production and business.

In Quang Xuong district, many members directly participated in the training conference and applied the knowledge to improve the quality of their family's agricultural production model.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoan, owner of Thao Hien farm, is a member of Quang Hop commune, Quang Xuong district, directly participating in the 2024 communication training on agriculture and rural areas. After the training, she returned to apply it to her family farm, focusing on production in the direction of circular organic agriculture without waste. Her family farm almost does not use chemical fertilizers.

To be self-sufficient in fertilizer for crops, Ms. Hoan's family built a system of barns to raise chickens and pigs and dug ponds to raise fish. Animal waste is pushed into a solid tank system, mixed with probiotics. The decomposed manure becomes an organic source of nutrients for crops on the farm. With a zero-waste, circular organic production model, the farm's products ensure the safety of consumers' health, and are therefore increasingly welcomed by markets inside and outside the province.

The Quang Xuong District Gardening and Farming Association also applies training experience to snail farming models in the district. Mr. Bui Xuan Binh in Tan Phong town is one of the pioneers in the field of production and trading of commercial snails. Currently, in addition to his family's farm of more than 6 hectares, he also cooperates and consumes products for more than 30 snail farms in the province. The knowledge gained from the communication training on agriculture and rural areas motivates him to continue developing and diversifying snail products; improving the quality of packaging, origin, stamps, and barcodes for traceability. In particular, being trained on the VietGAP process helps him gain more experience and prepare procedures to apply for a second VietGAP certification for the snail production process. Mr. Bui Xuan Binh, Tan Phong Town, Quang Xuong District, Thanh Hoa Province said: "We feel that many training programs are very suitable for our business. Through that, we gain experience and apply it at the company, bringing our products according to some standards such as VietGAP or criteria for building OCOP products".

Mr. Mai Dinh Thinh, Vice President of Gardening and Farming Association of Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa province
In Yen Dinh district, the Gardening and Farm Association also actively propagated and disseminated information from communication training sessions on agriculture and rural areas to members, including the family of Mr. Trinh Ba Dan, Yen Truong commune.

Mr. Dan has applied that knowledge to the wine production model and the integrated farm model, thereby improving product quality and expanding the market.

Mr. Trinh Ba Dan, Yen Trung Commune, Yen Dinh District, Thanh Hoa Province
Mr. Trinh Ba Dan, Yen Trung Commune, Yen Dinh District, Thanh Hoa Province said: "Through training and communication, my family has acquired a lot of useful knowledge about science and technology to apply to their family's production."
It can be said that the 2024 communication training on agriculture and rural areas has created impressions and spread among members of the Thanh Hoa Gardening and Farming Association; had a positive impact, motivating members to innovate production processes, create quality products, and conquer markets inside and outside the province.

Ms. Ha Thi Lan Huong, Vice President of Thanh Hoa Gardening and Farming Association
Ms. Ha Thi Lan Huong, Vice President of Thanh Hoa Gardening and Farming Association said: "In the coming time, the Provincial Gardening and Farming Association will direct associations at district and commune levels to continue to propagate, mobilize, guide and support farmer members to apply VietGAP certified production processes and be granted growing area codes. At the same time, we will coordinate with relevant agencies and units, especially the Department of Agriculture to support and guide farmers to be granted VieGAP certification and growing area codes".

It is expected that after the agricultural and rural training course, Thanh Hoa Gardening and Farming Association will continue to have many practical and meaningful activities to foster knowledge, experience and skills for members, contributing to building Thanh Hoa's agriculture to develop safely and sustainably.
