This year's IELTS Prize expands the scope of participants, is flexible in its evaluation criteria, and is especially looking for inspirational stories on the journey to conquer IELTS.
The program opens up opportunities for candidates regardless of age or profession. In addition to students planning to study abroad, the award is also aimed at teachers and individuals who are using IELTS as a tool for career development, study or professional development.
The application process is also streamlined by replacing essays or letters of recommendation with the opportunity for each candidate to freely share their personal journey through video format.
The contest consists of two rounds. Round 1 starts from today until June 15, contestants will make an English video of up to 2 minutes according to the chosen exam topic.
There are three test topics. Students are encouraged to share about the “turning point” moment that helped them break through in their journey to conquer IELTS and how those experiences changed them. For teachers, the test focuses on discovering the true value of IELTS in their teaching journey and career ideals, along with memorable lessons from their own personal experiences. The third test topic is to share the journey of overcoming difficulties and persistent efforts to achieve the IELTS goal, thereby opening new doors or reaping new achievements.
Candidates need to post a public video on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram or Threads with the hashtag: #IELTSPrize2025 #IELTSInspirers #BritishCouncilIELTS, then submit the video link and personal information via the official application form.
Candidates who pass round 1 will participate in round 2, taking place in July, in the form of online interviews.
The Organizing Committee will award 15 prizes to the 15 best contestants, including 5 Special prizes (each worth 50 million VND and an IELTS Inspirers certificate from the British Council) and 15 Inspirational prizes (each worth 10 million VND and an IELTS Inspirers certificate from the British Council).
The IELTS Prize has been held for 14 years. According to the British Council, the award aims to honor inspirational stories and provide financial support to individuals who appreciate the true value of IELTS, dare to dream and pursue it to the end, no matter where that journey starts and to any destination./.
