In January 2024, the Association of War Veterans of the Ward advised the Party Committee to establish a club to propagate and educate about traditions, propagate and educate about law, and provide legal aid. Up to now, after more than 1 year of establishment, the Club has organized 8 traditional talks for more than 1,200 students and teenagers to attend. Many activities of educating about traditions, taking care of the memorial stele, and propagating about local history have been coordinated by the Club, attracting a large number of students to participate.
In the exciting atmosphere of competition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 71st anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, the Association of War Veterans of Tan Hoa Ward coordinated with Tan Hoa Primary and Secondary School to organize a talk on historical storytelling. At the talk, students heard about the birth and tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, the fierce battles, the heroic sacrifices of martyrs for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the real-life stories of revolutionary soldiers who fought steadfastly and heroically for the independence and freedom of the nation. As those who directly fought and devoted their youth, with their knowledge, experience and practical experiences, the War Veterans shared and talked to help the younger generation better understand the history of struggle, the heroic revolutionary tradition of generations of Vietnamese people in the struggle to build and protect the country both in wartime and peacetime.
Through the talks, not only do we "inspire" patriotism but we also promote the vanguard spirit of the youth. Thereby, we contribute to educating and nurturing revolutionary ideals, arousing patriotism, national pride and a sense of responsibility of each youth in studying, working, building and defending the Fatherland in the new era.
Bui Xuan Loc, a 9A1 student at Tan Hoa Secondary School, shared: Listening to the veterans talk about the heroic and resilient fighting process of our army and people in the resistance wars to protect the independence and freedom of the nation, I was very moved and proud of the contributions of our ancestors. I appreciate the peaceful life today even more, reminding myself to study hard every day to be worthy of the contributions of our veterans.
Along with taking care of educating the tradition for the younger generation, the cadres and members of the Association of War Veterans of Tan Hoa ward are always exemplary in mobilizing their families, relatives and children to well implement the policies and laws of the Party, the State and local regulations in all fields. Promoting the exemplary role of the Association of War Veterans with the motto "Each War Veteran is a shining example of studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings" for the younger generation to follow. The efforts of the Association of War Veterans of Tan Hoa ward have contributed to nurturing and orienting the goals, revolutionary ideals, personality and lifestyle for the younger generation to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors in the cause of building and firmly defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, which has been trusted and supported by the local people, recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee and the government.
