With a length of over 7km, Hoi An's coastline is not only strategically important but also famous for its beautiful beaches. Cua Dai beach before erosion and An Bang beach over the years have been voted by famous international travel magazines and websites as some of the most beautiful beaches in Asia and the world .

Recognizing this as a crucial tourism resource, the city government and coastal localities have invested in upgrading infrastructure, expanding space, and diversifying service types to create a continuous and synchronized development alongside the Hoi An Ancient Town World Heritage Site, forming an important economic driving force.

Mr. Le Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Cam An Ward People's Committee, said that along with the city's attention, the locality is also taking advantage of resources to invest in infrastructure at the beaches to serve tourists.

“Over the past period, we have invested in public freshwater bathing areas and equipped them with free Wi-Fi networks. Along with that, we have focused on strengthening the personnel at the beach (security guards, lifeguards, beach cleaning staff, etc.); and at the same time, we have focused on rectifying and reorganizing business operations, distributing businesses in a way that ensures both the landscape and convenience for tourists visiting the beach,” Mr. Cong said.

Except for the period severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, coastal tourism projects in Cam An and Cua Dai have increased in both number and scale and are recovering, gradually yielding high returns.

With infrastructure construction projects and resettlement areas nearing completion, these coastal wards are creating even more favorable conditions for development and bringing about positive changes.

In particular, the villa and homestay accommodation sector along the coast has developed rapidly, creating jobs for many workers and providing stable income for people in the surrounding areas through accompanying services.

Mr. Tran Anh, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council, said: "Hoi An is maximizing the potential of the coastal economic zone by expanding planning and focusing investment on coastal parks and new tourist beaches."

"Encourage the diversification of marine economic sectors and types of tourism, services, and trade to attract investment, create more jobs, shift the labor structure towards tourism and services, and contribute to increasing income, stabilizing, and improving the lives of the people."
