What are the changes in the 2025 high school graduation exam? What are the enrollment targets and admission methods for universities and colleges? What are the future job opportunities…? These are the concerns that not only students but also teachers and parents in Nghe An are waiting to have answered.

Want to meet teachers and receive direct admission advice

In early January, grade 12 students at Huynh Thuc Khang High School, Vinh City (Nghe An) completed their first semester exams. This is also the time when students actively review and prepare for the 2025 high school graduation exam.

Although it is not yet the "sprint" period, many 12th grade students when asked expressed their concerns about the new points of this year's graduation exam according to the exam organization and graduation plan issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Having just tried some reference test sets online, Nguyen Tra Giang - a 12th grade student at Huynh Thuc Khang High School - said: "Since mid-October, we have tried the reference test sets and found that the literature test still retains the essay format. The remaining subjects are multiple choice with questions of choosing the correct option, correct/incorrect answers and short answers. In addition to the changed test structure, I am also very interested in the admission methods of universities to make appropriate choices.

Lo Thi Na Ny - a 12A5 student at Nghe An Ethnic Boarding High School - shared that compared to previous years, this year's reference exam was announced nearly 5 months earlier, helping her and her friends to proactively study and review.

In addition to the online exam information, Ny hopes to meet directly with teachers in the admissions and career counseling board organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper to ask questions and help "solve" her problems.

"I'm interested in jobs in artificial intelligence, semiconductor industry or medicine. I want to ask which job opportunities will be "hot" in the next 3-4 years after graduation," Ny expressed.

Useful and effective consulting channel for students

Ms. Nguyen Khanh Ly - Deputy Head of Admissions and Counseling at Nghe An Ethnic Boarding High School - said that every year, 11th and 12th graders of the school are very interested in the admissions and career counseling program organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper in Vinh City. This is a very useful and effective channel for counseling and career guidance for students.

This year, Nghe An Ethnic Boarding High School has 257 12th graders preparing for the high school graduation exam. This is a school with high quality training, the annual rate of students passing the university and college entrance exams is over 97%.

"To prepare for this year's high school graduation exam, right from when students entered grade 10 under the new curriculum, we have divided them into streams and organized them to choose subject combinations that suit their abilities and interests. We have also organized teaching, testing, and evaluation according to the new exam format so that students can be more proactive," Ms. Ly informed.

Participating in counseling students in previous years, Dr. Hoang Vinh Phu - Head of Training Department of Vinh University - evaluated the enrollment counseling and career guidance program organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper as very practical and timely.

The program's consultants helped students and parents answer many questions about the high school graduation exam, university admission methods, etc. When participating in the program, many students also asked the consultants many interesting questions, close to themselves when faced with many choices for the future.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training - said that after many years of coordinating with Tuoi Tre newspaper to organize this program, schools consider this an event to look forward to at the beginning of each year because it is practical for high school seniors.

"In addition to Vinh City, schools in the province all sent teachers in charge of counseling and enrollment to participate in the program to grasp new information about the high school exam to convey to students," said Mr. Hoan.

On January 11, the admissions and career counseling program hosted by Tuoi Tre newspaper took place at Vinh University, Nghe An province. The program was organized by the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), Tuoi Tre newspaper in coordination with the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and Vinh University, with the support of Vingroup Corporation. This is the 23rd year of the program and the 10th time it has taken place in Nghe An.
