On the morning of May 22, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (HCMC) held a graduation ceremony for about 700 12th grade students with the special appearance of singer Dong Nhi. Here, the female singer performed student hits such as Nhat Quy Nhi Ma , Nhung Thang Nam Toi Dep , and sent her best wishes to the graduating students. "I was very surprised and believe this is a special gift for those who are about to graduate," Dang Ngoc Linh Chi (grade 11CSU-D) confided.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the high-five activity of juniors to seniors in grade 12. The activity also witnessed the reunion of many former students to share the joy of graduation.
Class 12CV2 keeps their last memories at the nearly 100-year-old school before starting a 15-minute flashmob dance.
After 2 months of practicing at the end of each class, students of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted performed flashmob solo and duo dances filled with emotions, creating many beautiful moments for teachers, friends and the school that has accompanied them for the past 3 years.

The highlight of the performance was the alternating blue-pink folding fans designed and produced by the students themselves. As the owner of this idea, Huynh Thanh Hoang Vy (class 12CV2) hopes that the cool breeze created by the fan blades will blow away all worries and negativity, and at the same time fan the flame of enthusiasm. "Wind and fans are two closely related objects, just like 'Phong Le' is always an inseparable part of us," Vy confided.
One of the activities that brings tears to the eyes of the final year students is giving ribbons. "The red ribbon represents the person you want to thank the most, the blue one is for apologizing, the yellow one is for the person who makes you laugh out loud, while the green one is for thanking yourself for all your efforts over the past time. As for the pink one, this is the ribbon that brings the most tears when it is given to the person you don't want to leave at Le Hong Phong", Huynh Ngoc Yen Nhi (class 12CV1) explained.
Yen Nhi (left) took a photo with her close friend from the same club at school and also the person she gave a pink ribbon to express her love. "The theme of this year's graduation day is Finish 2023 and I believe that after today, I have had the best ending before moving on to the next chapter of my life. Because Le Hong Phong is always happy, I hope all my friends in the same grade will always be happy like the past 1,000 days at Le Hong Phong", the female student confided.
Tears and tight hugs are indispensable in the moments of farewell. "I still can't believe that after today I won't have the chance to go to class and see my friends anymore," a female student confided.
Close friends encourage each other and share their regrets as graduation approaches its final moments.
Interspersed with quiet moments were activities of signing shirts and writing in yearbooks among the graduating students. Each student’s white shirt was covered with signatures and wishes, just like the love they had for each other.
Many students also seek out teachers they respect and admire to ask for encouragement for the long journey ahead.
On their graduation day, the members of class 12A2 also celebrated the birthday of Le Nguyen Minh Tu (class 10A3, holding a certificate of merit). This is the artistic collaborator who has accompanied the class in practicing and encouraging the flashmob dance practice throughout the past time. "I was very touched when I received the gift of gratitude from you guys, everyone showed me what true brotherhood is. Thank you very much for always enduring the sun, the rain and making up for practice during busy times. I wish you guys will achieve perfect results in the upcoming entrance exam", Tu confided.
The graduation ceremony is part of the traditional program for grade 12 organized by students of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, which has now marked 15 years of operation. In addition to the graduation ceremony, the program also offers a series of events throughout the school year to preserve memorable memories of the final year students.
Previously, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted held a gratitude and maturity ceremony for its senior students on May 20.
