Reaching the competition was the result of the tireless efforts of 15 students. Accordingly, during the preparation period, the team continuously researched, designed, tested and changed strategies to create the most powerful machine, ready to conquer all challenges.
Sharing about the arduous journey of preparation and competition, team captain Pham Nam Khanh said that many days the team members worked until late at night in the lab, persistently fine-tuning each mechanism and practicing robot control to achieve the best performance.
Winning the runner-up position at the world’s largest robotics competition in the first time participating is a very proud achievement, affirming that Vietnamese students have great potential in science, engineering, technology and STEM. Not only having strengths in traditional Olympic competitions, Vietnamese students are gradually catching up with the world in approaching modern science and technology.
The FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship is the world's largest annual robotics competition, attracting more than 800,000 participants worldwide. The 2025 finals in the United States attracted 256 teams from more than 52 countries, bringing together more than 50,000 participants.
Teacher Nguyen Thanh Tung, the team leader, shared that with a resilient fighting spirit and sharp competition strategy, GreenAms 24751 and two allied teams (18030 and 20871) won the Edison group championship, bringing home the first Cup for Vietnam.
Not stopping there, entering the knockout round of the tournament, the Edison alliance continued to play impressively, passing the play-off round to enter the Final match of the tournament. With stable performance, smooth coordination and confidence on the field, the alliance won the Finalist Alliance title, officially becoming the FTC 2025 World Runner-up.
