On the afternoon of March 13, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong said that digital transformation of student health check-ups helps to identify early school disease patterns.

Up to now, schools from kindergarten, primary, secondary to high school have examined the health of 494,502 students from 1,021 schools, including 87,277 preschool students, 181,084 primary school students, 136,517 secondary school students and 89,624 high school students.

Initial results show that the school illness model has many issues of concern.

The highest rate of students with refractive errors is 58.02% (of which 24.88% are newly discovered), followed by tooth decay at 21.56%, overweight at 20.62%, obesity at 17.20%, wasting malnutrition at 3.96%, stunting malnutrition at 2.42%, scoliosis at 2.05% and hunchback at 0.69%.

According to the educational levels, the distribution of school diseases is different.

In preschool and primary school, the rate of children with tooth decay is the highest, followed by overweight, obesity, refractive errors, spinal curvature, and scoliosis. In middle school and high school, the rate of students with refractive errors is the highest, followed by overweight...

Mr. Tang Chi Thuong added that the health check-up program is being continued by schools in the coming time. Digital transformation of student health check-ups is of special importance, helping to continuously monitor the health status of each student from preschool to high school.

Student health data will be integrated into health records as soon as the health sector deploys health records. In addition, thanks to digital transformation, school disease models are quickly identified, providing an important basis for the health sector to deploy school health interventions.

In order to effectively implement the digital transformation of student health data under the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Department of Health requests the Department of Education and Training to continue to coordinate and provide full information of all educational institutions from preschool to general education under the management of the education sector.

This is to fully update the application "Community Health Management System" built by the Department of Health, helping health examination facilities easily select and enter student health data at health check-ups.
