Specifically, junior high school students receive support ranging from 30,000 to 60,000 VND per month, depending on their school area.

Group 1: Includes Thu Duc City and districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, and Binh Tan. Students receive a subsidy of 60,000 VND per student per month.

Group 2: Includes the districts of Nha Be, Hoc Mon, Can Gio, Cu Chi, and Binh Chanh. Students receive a subsidy of 30,000 VND per student per month. This subsidy is equivalent to 100% of public school tuition fees and applies to both public and private school students.

The policy is expected to require 237 billion VND for implementation, including: 221 billion VND to support tuition fees for over 464,000 public secondary school students; and 16 billion VND to support tuition fees for over 30,000 private secondary school students.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has implemented tuition fee support since the 2021-2022 school year, specifically: 2021-2022: 100% tuition fee support for public schools; 2022-2023: Partial support for the difference due to tuition fee adjustments; 2023-2024: 100% tuition fee support for junior high school students and partial support for kindergarten and high school students.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, this policy has contributed to reducing the financial pressure on parents, creating momentum for economic development after the COVID-19 pandemic, and ensuring that students do not have to drop out of school due to economic difficulties.

The Ho Chi Minh City government acknowledges that, after three years of implementation, the tuition fee support policy has received widespread public support. The policy not only reassures parents, motivates economic development, and helps restore production and business after a long period of responding to the pandemic, but also ensures that students can continue attending school and do not have to drop out due to financial difficulties.

In particular, for the 2024-2025 school year, Ho Chi Minh City has decided to apply tuition fees at all levels equivalent to those collected in the 2021-2022 school year. Against this backdrop, tuition fee exemption is considered a necessary requirement, creating a profound impact and demonstrating the city's concern for education .
