Applications must be submitted by November 5, 2024 at www.chevening.org/apply. |
Chevening Scholarships seek candidates from all walks of life and across a wide range of industries. Applicants need to demonstrate a commitment and skills to making a positive difference, and be able to demonstrate how a Masters in the UK will help them achieve this goal.
Not only is it a full scholarship that covers the entire cost of one year of study for Master's programs at more than 150 universities in the UK, Chevening also provides scholars with the opportunity to access professional development programs and cultural experiences in the land of fog.
In the 2025/2026 academic year, the UK will continue to provide around 1,500 global scholarships and more than 20 scholarships for Vietnam, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the development of future generations of leaders.
British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew said: “Our alumni network is full of people who are making a positive difference. You too can have a great experience in the UK like them."
According to the British diplomat, Chevening alumni are willing to share their experiences, provide advice and help expand their networks, so that "after completing the course and returning, you will be fully equipped with the knowledge, skills and experience to start contributing to the development of Vietnam".
“Apply by 5 November 2024 for your chance to become part of the Chevening community.” (Ambassador Iain Frew) |
The UK will offer an additional scholarship to Vietnam in the next academic year under the newly announced Chevening ASEAN Scholarship programme. Scholars on this programme will be able to participate in a range of activities and events designed to strengthen UK-ASEAN ties.
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCDO) and partner organisations. Chevening Scholarships support 1-year Masters courses in the UK for scholars with the potential to become future leaders, influencers and make a positive difference.
Chevening began in 1983 and has grown to become one of the most prestigious international scholarships in the world. Chevening was introduced in Vietnam in 1993 and over the past 30 years, around 550 Vietnamese students have been awarded scholarships.
The name Chevening comes from Chevening House in Sevenoaks, Kent - currently the private residence of the UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Development. |
