On March 30, the Francophone Alliance in Singapore, in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy, ​​the French Embassy and the Embassies of several member countries of the Francophone Community in Singapore, organized the Francophone Food Festival 2024 to enhance exchange and connection among members, while introducing and promoting the traditional culinary culture of each country.

Participating in this year's Francophone Food Festival, the Trade Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in collaboration with Red Sparrow Vietnamese Restaurant and Vietnamese Grill Village Restaurant brought some special dishes with strong "Vietnamese identity" such as bun cha, banh mi, nem ran, etc. Some fresh fruits such as green-skinned grapefruit, coconut, mango, melon, avocado, dragon fruit, etc. were directly participated and introduced by two Vietnamese enterprises, Green Powers Company Limited and Cansy's Garden Company.

In addition to the bread, bun cha, fried spring rolls, butter coffee, fruit juices, etc. served directly at the Festival, the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore introduced many Vietnamese food products associated with the above dishes such as dried vermicelli, rice paper, fish sauce, wood ear mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, spices for making sausages, spring rolls, spices for making spring roll dipping sauce, bun cha water... as well as desserts after meals such as bottled fruit juice, green-skinned grapefruit, butter coffee, etc.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Mai Phuoc Dung said that Vietnam has been a member of the Francophone community for a long time and has always been a responsible member, contributing greatly to the common activities of this organization. Vietnam's participation in this year's Food Festival demonstrates our commitment and responsibility to the Francophone community in Singapore.

This is also a great opportunity to introduce the culinary traditions of Vietnam to the countries in the Francophone region in Singapore, thereby understanding more about the culinary culture of Vietnam. This will be an opportunity for tourists and the young generation of students to explore all cultural aspects of Vietnam as well as the countries in the Francophone Community with booths displayed at the festival.

Mr. Cao Xuan Thang, Commercial Counselor, Head of the Trade Office of the Embassy of Vietnam in Singapore, said that the Francophone Food Festival is one of the annual events and one of the Trade Office's activities that integrates economic diplomacy and cultural diplomacy with the promotion of Vietnamese goods trade in the Singapore market, increasing the presence of Vietnamese goods abroad, connecting trade with Singaporean partners and international partners. The Vietnam Trade Office would like to invite Vietnamese enterprises to participate, promote Vietnamese traditional food products and thereby promote products for processing these dishes.
