The 12th European Overseas Vietnamese Business Forum, the largest annual activity of the Vietnamese business community in Europe, was held on September 30 in Budapest, Hungary, by the Union of Vietnamese Business Associations in Europe in coordination with the Embassy and Trade Office of Vietnam in Hungary.
The event took place under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in conjunction with the Trade Promotion Agency - Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize many sideline activities of the forum throughout September 29 - October 2.
The forum was attended by nearly 400 delegates, including leaders of a number of ministries, sectors, business associations, and Hungarian trade promotion organizations; the Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam; the Vietnamese Embassy and Trade Office in Hungary and several other European countries; and overseas Vietnamese businesses from 19 European countries.
The Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade led a delegation of Vietnam National Brand enterprises; the delegation of the People's Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces and many provincial enterprises attended the event; in addition, many other Vietnamese enterprises were also present and participated in the forum.

The forum highlighted the important role of the overseas Vietnamese business community in Europe in contributing to promoting trade relations between Vietnam and Europe.
Delegates said that in recent times, a large amount of domestic goods have been connected by overseas Vietnamese businesses to the European market, but the full potential has not yet been exploited.
The forum focused on discussing two main topics: transforming business operations in the digital age and promoting domestic exports to the European market, especially the Central provinces.
At the forum, clips promoting Vietnamese products, introducing potential advantages and development orientations of localities were shown. Many comments contributing to the development of the Vietnam Business Association in Europe were recorded.

Also at the forum, the Trade Promotion Department organized an area to display goods and media products including newspapers, publications, leaflets, etc. to introduce products that have achieved the Vietnam National Brand, combining direct trade for businesses, entrepreneurs, and foreign import companies.
This is an opportunity not only to help the brands of prestigious, top-quality Vietnamese products get closer to the overseas Vietnamese community in Europe, but also an opportunity for European businesses in general and Hungarian businesses in particular to update information, access the market and cooperate to invest in the Vietnamese market.
The forum was a great success, arousing solidarity, national pride and responsibility of the overseas Vietnamese business community in Europe in contributing to promoting economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and Europe.

In the sideline activities of the forum, on September 29, the Vietnam Trade Office in Hungary organized a delegation including representatives of the Trade Promotion Agency and more than 20 Vietnamese enterprises to visit and work at Vimpex Drink Kft Hungary - one of the leading importers and distributors of food and beverages in Hungary.
Here, Vietnamese businesses witnessed firsthand the process of importing and storing goods as well as the scale of the company's warehouse.

During the meeting, Mr. Vu Quy Duong, General Director of Vimpex Company, shared with Vietnamese enterprises about the current market demand for Hungarian goods as well as business methods to achieve optimal efficiency for enterprises.
Vietnamese enterprises attending the meeting had the opportunity to directly discuss with company leaders, propose business cooperation and wish to bring Vietnamese products into the company's retail supply chain.
The highlight of the series of activities on the sidelines of the forum was the trade connection session between Vietnamese and Hungarian enterprises taking place on October 2, organized by the Trade Office in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary and the Trade Promotion Agency.
With the participation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thao, Ambassador of Vietnam to Hungary; Mr. Tran Ngoc Ha, Head of Trade Office; Mr. Le Hong Minh, Director of the Center for Investment Promotion and Development of Industry and Trade, Trade Promotion Agency and more than 20 Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of agricultural products, food, textiles, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods. On the Hungarian side, there were representatives of importers, distributors, and large retail chains in Hungary.
This is considered a practical activity in the context of trade between Vietnam and Europe in general and Hungary in particular facing difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
At the business connection session, businesses from both sides have the opportunity to directly and frankly discuss the situation, needs and requirements of the market and of the business.
The National Brand sample products attracted the attention of Hungarian businesses at the event. Some Vietnamese businesses have reached initial agreements with partners. However, what your side cares most about is price and quality.
The business connection session was successful, on target, and highly appreciated by both businesses.
