The foundation for the strong transformation of Hoang Su Phi tourism is the effective implementation of Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP of the Government - with the motto "Unique products - Professional services - Convenient procedures - Competitive prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe and friendly destinations". Along with that, the Project "Hoang Su Phi tourism development planning for the period 2017-2021, orientation to 2030" has become a guideline, helping the locality improve the quality of human resources, promote the strengths of tourist routes and destinations and improve infrastructure, gradually turning tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

Within the framework of the Ha Giang Tourism Promotion Forum – Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination, Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam and his family had a memorable 3-day, 2-night experience in Suoi Thau 2 village (Ban Luoc commune). This place is likened to a rocky plateau that is transforming strongly with its wildness, purity and hospitality.

Not luxurious, not noisy, the Skyview Khanh Dinh community tourism model located in the middle of the terraced fields has become a place to leave special memories for the family of the Iranian Ambassador. Simple but energetic images of his and his family's journey of discovery , when admiring the Shan Tuyet tea hills, picking tea with the Dao people, catching carp in the fields, or walking along the red dirt road in the middle of the young rice fields... quickly spread on social networks, receiving thousands of likes and shares.

"As a tourist to Ha Giang, I was truly fascinated. Not only by the majestic nature but also by the depth of culture. Seeing the famous terraced fields, experiencing with the locals, especially the Shan Tuyet tea hills, I felt like I was touching the heart of Ha Giang", Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari expressed his emotions.

Skyview – the name suggests a spacious view that is not only a place to stay but also a lifestyle, a tourism philosophy that "touches" emotions. That is what Ms. Dinh Quoc Khanh – the owner of the establishment and also a cultural official of Ban Luoc commune always keeps in mind. Not relying on noisy promotional campaigns, this unit mainly welcomes guests through word of mouth, self-written and self-filmed posts on TikTok, Facebook or travel review groups.

Ms. Khanh shared: "Doing tourism requires a heart. I do not put profit first, but I hope that visitors coming here will feel warm, close, and feel like they are in their own home. Visitors come not only to stay, but to experience, to love this land as the locals live and preserve it."

With that motto, Ms. Khanh's community tourism model has become a familiar destination for tourists from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and other provinces and cities, especially international tourists from France, Germany, Sweden, England, Korea... On average, this facility welcomes about 200-300 visitors each year, the most crowded during the rice harvest season from September to November. Experiences imbued with identity such as trekking in terraced fields, catching fish in the fields, picking tea, or upon request, reenacting the fire dancing ritual, the Dao people's Ao Dai ordination ceremony... have contributed to "wrapping up" unforgettable memories in each trip.

Ms. Khanh's success is just one of many community tourism models that are "rising" in Hoang Su Phi - where tourism is no longer a race for infrastructure or services but a journey of living together, understanding and honoring the local culture. The visit of the Iranian Ambassador is not only a personal experience, but also an inspiring affirmation that: Hoang Su Phi is truly touching the hearts of international friends, from the most simple things.

The first time he set foot in Hoang Su Phi, Mr. Le Van Tuong (a tourist from Thanh Hoa province) could not hide his emotion before the majestic and pristine beauty of the land at the headwaters of the Chay River. As a nature lover and having traveled all over the Northwest, but for Mr. Tuong, Hoang Su Phi is still a different quiet place, both rustic and profound, bringing a "very real, very human" experience.

"I have been to many places, but Hoang Su Phi makes me stop longer not because of the luxurious services, but because of the sincerity of the local people, the houses nestled on the mountainside, the sound of the flute echoing in the afternoon forest and especially because of the feeling like I have just touched a fairy tale memory area," the male tourist confided.

According to Mr. Tuong, what makes Hoang Su Phi so special is not only the majestic terraced fields, ancient Shan Tuyet tea hills, or the golden rice season stretching like a brocade strip in the middle of the forest... but also the original cultural values that are still preserved by the people through each song, dance, and traditional ritual of the Dao, Tay, and Nung people...

Thinking that Hoang Su Phi is still very wild and very real. Here, tourists not only come to see and take pictures, but also to slow down, to understand and appreciate every aspect of the local culture. Mr. Tuong believes that if the right investment is given attention and the identity is preserved as it is now, this place is completely worthy of becoming a unique cultural and ecological destination on the tourist map of Ha Giang.

In the process of construction and development, Hoang Su Phi district has always received close attention from provincial leaders. At a working session with district leaders, comrade Vuong Ngoc Ha, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the comprehensive changes of the locality, especially in the fields of education, health care and tourism development associated with cultural identity.

Regarding tourism, Mr. Vuong Ngoc Ha especially noted that all destinations in Hoang Su Phi need to be developed in the direction of eco-tourism associated with indigenous culture, clearly identifying opportunities, challenges, strengths and weaknesses to have an effective investment attraction orientation. The province also encourages the district to coordinate with industrial art designers to build from the cultural identity of ethnic groups into handicraft products, typical souvenirs to serve tourists towards developing tourism that is not only beautiful but also has cultural depth.

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang province, from 2020 to early 2024, Hoang Su Phi welcomed more than 165,000 visitors, including more than 2,400 international visitors. Revenue from tourism is estimated at more than 140 billion VND, contributing significantly to the transformation of this mountainous district.

In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the entire Ha Giang province welcomed over 848,000 visitors, with total revenue of nearly VND2,300 billion. These impressive figures show that tourism is not only a "gateway" to introduce Ha Giang to the world, but also a driving force for sustainable development, especially in localities such as Hoang Su Phi.

On the journey to touch the hearts of tourists, Hoang Su Phi not only brings majestic terraced fields or fragrant Shan Tuyet tea hills, but also tells simple stories about people, culture and aspirations to rise from this very borderland.

With the drastic participation of local authorities, the cooperation of the community and the companionship of tourists from all over the world, Hoang Su Phi tourism is gradually shaping its own sustainable, humane and indigenous identity.
