After spending the whole morning resting and recovering, this afternoon (November 18), the Vietnamese team returned to the training ground to prepare for the match against the Iraqi team in the next match of the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
Coach Philippe Troussier divided the team into two groups. The starting players in the match against the Philippines only did light exercise, mainly to relax their muscles and maintain their ball feel. The remaining players increased their exercise volume to release inertia, while also practicing more technical and tactical content.

The training atmosphere of the Vietnamese team is very urgent. Coach Philippe Troussier also requires the highest concentration from his players, because the upcoming opponent is considered very strong, having just won 5-1 against Indonesia in the opening match.
In the match at My Dinh Stadium on November 21, the French strategist will likely make some changes in personnel. The match against Iraq forces Mr. Troussier to use his strongest lineup.
Previously, in the opening match against the Philippines, coach Philippe Troussier used up to 6 young players in the squad. The 68-year-old strategist left a series of key players such as Hoang Duc, Hung Dung, and Que Ngoc Hai on the bench.

Therefore, these players are really eager to show their ability when the Vietnam team welcomes Iraq. All of them are practicing very enthusiastically, when they feel the competition in the team is very big, from the young faces.
Also related to the personnel issue, the good news is that despite having to play on artificial turf in the opening match against the host Philippines, the Vietnamese team was able to maintain 100% of its strength.
Van Toan only suffered soft tissue pain, which will not affect his training and competition. This striker is ready to play in the match against Iraq if he continues to be selected in the national team's squad.

To continue serving fans who come to the stadium to cheer on the team in the confrontation with a strong opponent from West Asia, the Organizing Committee has sold tickets directly at the VFF headquarters, with 4 prices including: 200,000 VND/ticket; 300,000 VND/ticket; 450,000 VND/ticket and 600,000 VND/ticket.
