The workshop was attended by Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council; Mr. Lo Viet Phuong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Society; Mr. Le Truong Luu, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hue City; and many experts and researchers in the fields of ethnicity, economy and sustainable development.

In his opening speech, Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam emphasized: The Party and State always pay attention to ethnic affairs and build policies for comprehensive development of ethnic minority areas. Currently, there are more than 90 laws and hundreds of documents related to this field, but there is no comprehensive law regulating ethnic relations. Since the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term, the Ethnic Council has researched and organized many seminars to clarify the approach and the need to build a separate law on ethnic affairs.

At the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Van Hoi (Institute for Strategic and Public Policy Research, Ministry of Industry and Trade) presented a paper on trade development policies for ethnic minority and mountainous areas; emphasized the important role of highland markets and proposed specific mechanisms for infrastructure investment, brand building associated with local culture...

The workshop took place over 2 days, with 10 in-depth presentations on ethnic policies.
