Binh Thuan Maritime Port Authority has just informed that the salvage of the Pacific 05 barge and all its cargo has been completed and handed over to the owner of the vehicle. The salvage process ensures safety, maritime security and does not cause environmental pollution in the area.
Accordingly, Binh Thuan Maritime Port Authority said that at the end of August 2023, the unit approved the plan to salvage the Pacific 05 vessel and its cargo that sank in the waters of Mui Ne. The salvage plan was developed by Thanh Tu Hong Ngu Private Enterprise (the salvage contractor) based on the content that had been commented on by relevant agencies and units.
After the salvage plan was approved, the salvage contractor and the owner of the Pacific 05 vessel coordinated with relevant parties to promptly implement it. To date, the salvage of the Pacific 05 vessel and all cargo has been completed and handed over to the owner. The salvage process ensures maritime safety and security and does not cause environmental pollution in the area.
Previously, the barge Thai Binh Duong 05, registration number SG 7442 belonging to Thai Binh Duong Shipping Services Company Limited, was carrying about 300 tons of column-shaped iron, towed by a tugboat with registration number SG 6177. On the tugboat were 3 crew members led by Mr. Tran Van Bup (born in 1982, residing in Long Huu Dong, Can Duoc, Long An). The ship departed from Nha Trang port to Ho Chi Minh City to deliver the goods. At about 5:00 a.m. on August 8, while passing through Binh Thuan waters, about 4 nautical miles south of Mui Ne coast, it encountered an incident and stopped to fix it. After that, the barge was sunk by big waves and strong winds, with no casualties.
