(Dan Tri) - Having received insults about her appearance, Nguyen Ngoc Lan Huong has overcome and improved herself to become Miss Development Economics - University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Was body-shamed before becoming Miss
Nguyen Ngoc Lan Huong became Miss Development Economics 2023 (Miss Aurora 2023) of the Faculty of Development Economics - University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi thanks to her modern dance talent and confident responses that convinced the judges.
Before becoming Miss, Lan Huong was an influential girl on social networks with a TikTok channel of more than 700,000 followers. The videos Huong shared on her personal page were mainly related to entertainment content.

Lan Huong confided: "Before participating in the Miss program, I was hesitant because I was a bit self-conscious about my body shape. However, when I received enthusiastic support from my friends as well as encouragement from my boyfriend, I regained my inherent self-confidence. Luckily, I was honored to receive this noble title."
Huong said that although she appeared in public many times and was widely known, when participating in the Miss contest, she still felt nervous and scared. Because all the contestants in the contest were excellent and well-rounded in every aspect.
According to Lan Huong, after becoming Miss, the female student will try to improve herself to be worthy of the title she has achieved.
"Although I was lucky to have won the prestigious title, in the future, I have no intention of going further in the beauty pageant field because I realize that my abilities are limited," the female student shared.
Huong is an outgoing, energetic girl. She has enjoyed participating in extracurricular activities since middle school. However, few people know that behind her confidence and enthusiasm is a girl who was once isolated and ridiculed on social media platforms.

"In middle school, many friends didn't like me so they body-shamed me. They said things like: "Your arms and legs are like pillars", "your nose is big and ugly", "you're so fat". Although those words satisfied their psychology, they unintentionally dragged me into a negative abyss.
Gradually, I began to fall into a psychological darkness, I felt self-conscious and became closed off from everyone around me. I looked for and wore items that could cover my flaws. I wanted to hide my body inside so that no one could see it," the hot TikToker confided.
As she grew older, Lan Huong accepted to face the "unkind" words from others and no longer held negative emotions. From then on, she lived and believed in Vince Lombardi's point of view: "The problem is not whether you fall or not. It's whether you get up after you fall or not."
Study and work at KOC to earn "huge" income
Returning to positive energy, Lan Huong created a TikTok channel with the desire to live her passion to the fullest. Huong said that at first, she only intended to play TikTok for entertainment and to satisfy her passion.
"My love for dancing grew after participating in extracurricular activities at school. However, I didn't practice it much because I wanted to spend time studying and doing other activities like playing the piano, singing, and reading," Huong said.

Lan Huong's mother shared: "Huong is a girl with personality. Although she spends a lot of time on work and participating in extracurricular activities, her academic results are not affected, so the family always trusts and is proud of her."
Huong’s mother said that the family is quite worried as Huong’s environment is getting wider and wider. The girl’s parents are concerned that their daughter will inevitably stumble in the social networking environment. However, with everyone’s support as well as Huong’s positive energy, the family is also reassured and supports the path she has chosen.
