Miss Vietnam 2014 Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen unexpectedly registered to compete in the beauty pageant

A decade after winning the Miss Vietnam title, Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen suddenly announced that she will participate in the Miss Universe Vietnam contest this year. This decision of the beauty has attracted the attention of the public and the media.

Ky Duyen shared that the title of Miss Universe Vietnam is a youthful dream that she has always cherished.

"Exactly 10 years and a youthful dream that has always been painfully unfinished, Duyen decided to return with the goal of winning a ticket to represent Vietnamese beauty in the international arena - Miss Universe", the beauty shared in the contest registration form.

The 28-year-old beauty pledged to seriously prepare and focus on the competition, and hopes to receive support from the audience.

Ky Duyen’s continued registration for the beauty pageant has attracted the attention of many fans. Under the organizers’ post, the majority of the audience expressed their hope that she would become the new beauty queen of this year’s contest.

Actress and dancer Diep Lam Anh re-shared the post announcing Ky Duyen's participation in the contest with the message: "Shocked. If not, I'll also compete for fun" after she witnessed her close showbiz friends enrolling in this year's contest.

Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen was born in 1996, from Nam Dinh , and was crowned Miss Vietnam 2014 while still a student at Foreign Trade University.

However, after being crowned, Ky Duyen was involved in some scandals related to her private life, and had actions that were not up to the standards of a beauty queen.

Up to now, for many reasons, Ky Duyen has not been able to represent Vietnam in international beauty contests.

In the following years, Ky Duyen returned to the entertainment industry, making a strong impression in the fashion industry and often holding the vedette position on the catwalk.

Miss Universe Vietnam is currently the contest that holds the copyright to send contestants to Miss Universe. This year’s contest has a notable change when it raises the maximum age of contestants from 28 to 33, in order to attract more potential candidates.

The winner will receive a cash prize of up to two billion VND - the highest prize in the history of domestic beauty contests.

The competition will go through many rounds of selection, contestants will undergo training and participate in eight challenges before entering the final night, scheduled to take place in September in Ho Chi Minh City.
