Miss Mai Phuong said something surprising even though she didn't win Top Model

In the Top Model competition, Miss Mai Phuong brought two outfits by Vietnamese designers. In which, the outfit named Pearl Rain was inspired by the beauty of ocean pearls.

"Each pearl starts from a simple grain of sand, through the process of polishing, the pearls become sparkling and radiate their own pure light. That is the same as all the girls at Miss World, everyone has made tireless efforts to realize the dream of shining and bringing positive values to the community", Miss Mai Phuong shared with PV Dan Viet about the meaning of the dress.

The special feature in the design of Miss Mai Phuong in the Top Model competition in the framework of the Miss World 2024 contest is the detachable wings. The outfit helps the Vietnamese representative have a performance that attracts all eyes of the audience.

Miss Mai Phuong regrets failing to qualify for Top Model before the Miss World 2023 final.

Despite investing in costumes, Miss Mai Phuong did not achieve any results in the Top Model competition, which made many fans regretful. As someone who directly watched the contestants compete in this competition in India, director Hoang Nhat Nam said that Miss World is a competition that does not livestream so that the audience can see the beauty of each contestant.

"When watching live, I saw many outstanding contestants, good height, beautiful faces, impressive education and life experiences. However, Mai Phuong has been doing well and is confident. Her catwalk skills, charisma and efforts are all commendable. The contestants participating in Miss World are all strong, we should accept fair play," director Hoang Nhat Nam shared with Dan Viet from India.

Referring to the reason why the Indian representative won the Best Costume award in this beauty contest, director Hoang Nhat Nam said that the members of the jury have their own opinions and the audience needs to respect that decision. However, the beauty-loving community has the right to object and express their own opinions about the contestants' performances as well as the results of the competitions at Miss World 2024.

"I found the Indian representative's outfit harmonious. The judges had a reason to choose that winning design. The host representative is 1.77m tall, has a delicate face and beautiful hair. She may have conveyed a message with the mysterious black tone in her outfit. In the end, I think the host representative is a strong competitor at Miss World 2024," the director commented.

From India, Miss Mai Phuong shared with Dan Viet that she still maintains positive energy and prepares well for the following competitions, especially the private interview as the Miss World 2024 final is approaching.

“I am happy to have Vietnamese audiences following and supporting me. Even though I did not make it into the Top 5 of Asia, I still kept my energy and was ready for the next round. I feel like I learned and matured a lot through each round. What I am most proud of is being able to present designs from Vietnam to the beauty-loving community around the world ,” Miss Mai Phuong expressed.

In addition, the Vietnamese representative added that she was happy when her close friend, the Turkish representative, won second prize in this sub-contest.

It is known that the Miss World Organizing Committee has just announced the results of the Top Model and Best Fashion Design awards. Accordingly, the winner of the Top Model award is the representative of Martinique. The representative of Turkey won 2nd place and is the best representative of the Asia-Pacific region; the representatives of Slovakia and Boswana ranked 3rd. The representatives of India, the US, Ethiopia and the Czech Republic won the Best Fashion Design awards in each region.

According to Miss Mai Phuong, the Miss World 2024 final will take place on March 9 at a center in Mumbai, India. The reigning Miss Karolina Bielawska will crown her successor.
