Designer Vo Viet Chung - chairman of Miss Vietnam Heritage Silk 2024 and head of the organizing committee - told Tuoi Tre Online that the organizing committee will start accepting entries from now until September 30.

The final round is expected to take place at the end of November 2024, in Hoi An ancient town.

Accepting candidates for cosmetic surgery

The Miss Vietnam Heritage Silk Contest 2024 is jointly organized by Silk Fashion World Company Limited and Hoi An City (Quang Nam Province). This is the first season.

Contestants must be female, 18 to 30 years old, 1.6m tall, have a high school diploma, not married, not registered for marriage, and have not given birth.

Candidates may have undergone cosmetic surgery but only to correct some defects such as porcelain teeth, jaw deviation, crooked nose, strabismus, etc.

Designer Vo Viet Chung said that contestants who won a number of titles in beauty pageants taking place in 2022 and 2023 will be given special consideration to enter the semi-finals or finals.

The beauty who won the title of Miss Vietnam Heritage Silk 2024 received a prize worth a total of more than 2.5 billion VND.

The first and second runners-up will receive a total prize value of more than 1 billion VND.

In addition, the organizers also awarded many additional prizes, each worth a total of 100 million VND.

Preserving and promoting traditional craft villages

With the theme "Journey of brocade weaving", the Miss Vietnam Heritage Silk 2024 contest promotes good traditional values, traditional costumes, especially traditional craft villages, including silk weaving villages.

This is also the reason why the organizers chose Hoi An as the venue for the competition.

Hoi An is known by many as a locality with a developed garment industry. Quang Nam province is one of the cradles of the silk industry in our country.

Through this contest, the organizers hope to honor traditional values ​​and promote them to international friends.

Interestingly, within the framework of the contest, the organizers will hold a traditional ao dai design contest.

"The designs are flattering and have a strong traditional ao dai imprint. Contestants can stylize their designs but within limits.

Contestants design on Vietnamese silk materials such as Van Phuc silk, Ha Dong silk, Lanh My A..." - Vo Viet Chung added.

With the theme Silk is Vietnam , the contest hopes to preserve and promote traditional Vietnamese costumes through the talents of young designers. From there, promote the dressing culture of Vietnamese people to the world.

Master Hoang Quoc Long - Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School - is the head judge of this competition.

Also participating as judges are designer Thuan Viet, Duc Vince, Chau Bau Ngoc Nga and director Le Viet.

The organizers said they will select the top 35 most beautiful designs for contestants to perform in the final round of the Miss Vietnam Heritage Silk 2024 contest.
