Talking to Dan Viet reporters about the opportunities for Vietnamese representatives to participate in international beauty contests but their English skills are not really outstanding, many beauty experts said that although English communication skills are not a mandatory criterion, foreign language proficiency cannot be underestimated. Mr. Pham Duy Khanh (Kenbi Khanh Pham) - Head of the Organizing Committee (OC) of the Miss Vietnam Global Tourism contest said that beauties who do not know English do not have no chance to be crowned.

"When a contestant has all the elements of beauty, performance skills, knowledge... plus good English ability, the chance of winning is even higher. I personally always have a preference for girls who have both beauty and foreign language skills to go further.

"When having good English communication skills, Vietnamese representatives will be confident in communicating with other contestants, the contest organizers as well as international audiences. On the contrary, if a beauty queen representing Vietnam competes internationally but is not good at English, the chance of achieving a high ranking will be very difficult," Mr. Khanh shared with Dan Viet.

Ms. Pham Kim Dung - President of Miss World Vietnam and Miss Grand Vietnam said: "For Vietnamese representatives competing in international beauty contests, proficiency in English is an important factor. Because when communicating well in English, Vietnamese representatives will understand what others say, let others know what they want and demonstrate their abilities when "bringing bells to strike foreign lands".

Candidates with foreign language skills will be a plus point for them in international beauty contests. For example, in the Miss Grand International contest, there will be a presentation by the Top 10, a behavioral round by the Top 5 and a behavioral round by the Top 2 to find the crowned beauty. Therefore, if candidates participating in this beauty contest are not good at foreign languages, it will be very difficult to win.
