Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 Ninh Binh beauty crowned for the first time

As a new face of Vietnamese showbiz coming out of The Face Vietnam 2023 contest with the title of runner-up, Bui Thi Xuan Hanh from Ninh Binh has excelled over thousands of contestants nationwide to become 1 of 38 contestants present at the final night of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 (Miss Cosmo Vietnam). Winning the highest title of the contest has brought Xuan Hanh's name closer to the public. This is also the first time Ninh Binh has been mentioned on the "map" of Vietnamese beauty in the highest position of a national beauty contest.

2023 is a year of special significance for Bui Thi Xuan Hanh, a 22-year-old girl from Ninh Binh who succeeded in two major competitions: The Face Vietnam 2023 and Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023 (Miss Universe Vietnam).

Launched in October 2023, the contest attracted thousands of registered contestants, but the Organizing Committee selected 59 girls to participate in filming 10 episodes of a reality TV show called "I am Miss Universe Vietnam". The challenges clearly demonstrated expertise, helping contestants reveal their strengths in performance, presentation, and critical thinking. Having previously participated in The Face Vietnam, Xuan Hanh had an advantage over many other contestants. She learned catwalk skills, quick but calm behavior, and especially time management skills from the previous reality TV show.

Throughout the 9 reality TV episodes of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 contest, Xuan Hanh impressed with her eloquence, agility, and extensive knowledge, understanding many fields. The beauty excellently won the "Cosmo Look" challenge.

Before the final round, she was also named in the top 6 "Best in Swimsuit". At the final night, when she entered the top 5 in the behavioral round, Xuan Hanh received a question related to preserving traditional beauty in modern times. She used the ao dai as an example, and reminded people of solidarity. The beauty from Ninh Binh emphasized "We develop but let's remember the traditional beauty of Vietnam".

It seems that throughout the competition journey, Xuan Hanh always puts her heart into each costume design, embedding meaningful messages into it. For example, in the national costume competition, the beauty presented the design "Mother Stork", a metaphor for the image of hard-working, responsible Vietnamese women. The evening gown for the semi-final night was a dress with stone embellishments depicting the mountains and rivers of Ninh Binh. Through the performance costumes as well as the activities at the competition, Xuan Hanh hopes to promote and spread the image of the beautiful and friendly ancient capital of Hoa Lu-Ninh Binh to the audience and friends from all over the country...

Coming to the Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2023 contest, Xuan Hanh is a testament to the efforts to rise up, a beautiful story that inspires the young generation, true to the spirit of the contest with the theme "I, train me". Xuan Hanh's father passed away early when she was in 3rd grade, Xuan Hanh and her sister lived with her mother and stepfather. For the new Miss, family is the motivation and spiritual support that helps her have her current strength.

Her family owned a woodworking business in Nam Binh Ward (Ninh Binh City), so from a young age, Xuan Hanh joined in the labor to help her parents. During her high school years, especially the 3 years of studying Chemistry class K58 at Luong Van Tuy High School, she had to focus a lot on studying, but Xuan Hanh still often helped her parents sand the wooden products.

During her years at the National Economics University, there were times when Xuan Hanh also tutored Chemistry to earn extra income. She constantly made efforts in her studies, excelled in many subjects, and won second prize in scientific research at the school level. Before competing in The Face Vietnam 2023, Xuan Hanh completed her subjects early, graduated with honors, and graduated a few months ahead of schedule.

Mr. Tran Viet Bao Hoang, Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 affirmed: "Xuan Hanh's victory is a journey. Although in the final night, her stage performance skills have not yet reached their peak, the content and thinking in Xuan Hanh's approach, answers and debates are very good. Xuan Hanh has naturalness, charisma, courage and a breakthrough mindset, not following a stereotype. For all the topics of the contest, Xuan Hanh always has a unique and practical approach, with the freshness of a young mind that is willing to explore. Her foundation, qualities and ability to learn and progress well are the reasons why the 7 members of the Jury unanimously chose Xuan Hanh, even though they know she is still a rough gem that needs to be polished...".

Sharing about her plans during her coronation term, Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 Bui Thi Xuan Hanh said: With my own efforts and determination, during this term I will complete my best, contribute the most to the community, including the "New Life" project, connect with businesses, create employment opportunities for homeless people... Besides, the title from the contest is also an opportunity for me to contribute to introducing and promoting the image of Ninh Binh people and land to domestic and international friends.

Miss Universe Vietnam - Miss Cosmo Vietnam is not simply a beauty contest, but also promotes tourism, culture, and Vietnamese people to international friends. Therefore, the criteria for selecting the titles are also different. Miss Universe Vietnam not only has physical beauty but also represents the aspirations and ideals of the young generation of Vietnam in the new era of beauty. With the title of Miss, Bui Thi Xuan Hanh will be the first representative of Vietnam to participate in the international Miss Cosmo contest, which will be held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024.
