Rhododendron flowers blooming on Fansipan peak "invite" tourists on April 30 holiday

Images of a series of rhododendrons blooming and showing off their colors on the top of Fansipan (Lao Cai) are receiving great attention on social networks.

Rhododendron flowers blooming brilliantly on Fansipan peak attract visitors on the occasion of April 30.

As the April 30-May 1 holiday approaches, rhododendron flowers are suddenly blooming on Fansipan peak (Lao Cai), attracting the attention of tourists.

Rhododendron flowers are found in many northern mountainous provinces such as Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Lang Son, etc. This flower is known as the "flower queen of the Northwest mountains" because of its dreamy, poetic beauty and strong vitality in the middle of the forest. However, many flower forests have withered by the end of March and the beginning of April. There are few places where rhododendron flowers bloom as late as on Fansipan peak.

Fansipan is the highest peak in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, located on the border of Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces. According to research, the Hoang Lien Son range has up to 40 different species of rhododendrons, blooming in batches from February to June every year.

For about a week now, rhododendrons have been blooming on the top of Fansipan. Visitors can admire the colorful flowers and check-in on the road leading to Kim Son Bao Thang Tu, part of the cultural and spiritual architectural complex on the top of Fansipan. This road is about 60m long, designed and built to follow the natural terrain, ensuring the area with ancient and rare rhododendrons remains intact. Here, visitors can admire the rhododendrons at a very close distance, instead of viewing them from afar or from the cable car as before.

Sa Pa (Lao Cai) is currently one of the most attractive destinations during the two holidays of Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and April 30 - May 1 this year. On this occasion, the People's Committee of Sa Pa town organized the "Sa Pa Summer Festival - Sa Pa land of love 2024" with many attractive activities. Specifically, the "Rose Festival" held at the Fansipan cable car station and on the main streets of the Sa Pa tourist area; launching the tourism product "Sa Pa Love Market", opening the "Sa Pa Ethnic Cuisine Festival".
