Currently, Da Bac district focuses on building community tourism models in planned villages, supporting tourism skills for local people, and restoring and preserving traditional culture to develop sustainable tourism.

According to Ms. Quy, Da Bac district currently has 30 accommodation establishments, including 18 homestays and a 2-star hotel. In 2023, Da Bac welcomed about 170,100 visitors, bringing in revenue of more than 80 billion VND. The locality aims to welcome over 550,000 visitors by 2025 with revenue of 165 billion VND, and by 2030 reach over 660,000 visitors, with expected revenue of 198 billion VND.

These impressive figures demonstrate Da Bac’s great potential in exploiting the beauty of Hoa Binh Lake for economic development. The district is also building a series of high-class resorts in the communes along the lake and on small islands, promising to create great attraction for tourists.

Hoa Binh Lake starts from Hoa Binh City and extends to the West through Da Bac, Cao Phong, Tan Lac and Mai Chau districts. This is an ideal condition for people and businesses to build resorts along the lake. Da Bia Hamlet (Tien Phong Commune, Da Bac District) has formed a whole village for tourism. The Muong people have cleverly built an attractive tourist village. Every year, this place attracts thousands of visitors to experience. These projects not only meet the needs of relaxation and entertainment but also focus on preserving indigenous culture, developing spiritual tourism, cuisine and tourism services associated with environmental protection. The province also focuses on improving transport infrastructure, tourist ports, marinas and communication systems to facilitate stronger tourism development.

With the goal of making tourism a key economic sector, Hoa Binh focuses on developing high-quality tourism products associated with the cultural and natural characteristics of the lake area. Homestays imbued with local culture, high-end resorts and unique cultural experiences are gradually affirming Hoa Binh Lake as an unmissable destination for Vietnamese tourism.

Hoa Binh Lake is not only a symbol of the harmonious combination of nature and culture but also a fulcrum for local communities to rise up strongly, building a sustainable development model, rich in identity and full of potential.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province, in the first 6 months of this year, the province welcomed about 2.6 million visitors, up 9.9% over the same period last year, reaching 61.9% of the plan. Total revenue from tourists reached VND2,689 billion, up 29.8% over the same period last year, reaching 58.5% of the yearly plan.

Mr. Luu Huy Linh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province - said that currently, the province is focusing on developing Hoa Binh lake tourist area into a national tourist area. Accordingly, the province focuses on leading departments, branches, and functional agencies to continue investing in infrastructure, especially roads, electricity, water, sanitation, etc. For investors, the province is also continuing to build policies and mechanisms to encourage and attract investment in the Hoa Binh lake area, especially developing high-quality tourism products associated with lake ecotourism such as homestays, resorts, local dishes, etc.
