On April 20, according to information from the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions , as of April 18, the whole country had supported the elimination of 201,651 temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 105,968 houses were inaugurated and 95,683 new houses were started.
Specifically, housing support for people with revolutionary contributions is 24,151 units (9,676 units completed and 14,475 units started); housing support under the two National Target Programs is 58,356 units (39,669 units completed and 15,687 units started); housing support under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is 119,144 units (56,623 units completed and 62,521 units started).
Thus, the number of temporary and dilapidated houses of poor and near-poor households that need to be eliminated under the Program is 34,700.
Implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide in 2025 launched by the Prime Minister , provinces and cities nationwide are highly determined and making great efforts to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025.
The movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" is not only a social security task, but also a meaningful action, contributing to improving the quality of life of people, especially policy families, poor and near-poor households.
In Ho Chi Minh City, to practically celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, with the support of the State Bank of Vietnam, Branch Region 2 and the banking system in the city, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the City and coordinating units have completed financial support for repairing 323/323 houses of poor households, near-poor households, and households with difficult circumstances with degraded housing with a cost of more than 25.3 billion VND.
In addition, the Fatherland Front of Thu Duc City and socio-political organizations of Ho Chi Minh City completed the construction and repair of 899 houses with a budget of more than 44.8 billion VND from the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels and from the mobilized support funds of socio-political organizations of the City and localities.
In Dak Nong province, according to the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses, to complete the program and support housing and land according to national target programs, the whole province has nearly 1,400 newly built houses and nearly 400 houses repaired. The total cost of new construction and repair is nearly 120 billion VND (not including contributions and counterpart funds from beneficiary families).
To date, the locality has completed the construction of more than 700 new houses; at the same time, it has started construction of more than 100 houses.
Along with the whole country, Dak Nong is drastically implementing solutions to complete the elimination of all temporary and dilapidated houses before December 31.
Since the beginning of the year, localities in Dak Nong province have urgently implemented the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. In addition to funding from national target programs, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister, many houses have been built with the love of compatriots thanks to the cooperation and support of philanthropists, the business community and the whole society.
Ms. Ha Thi Hanh, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Nong province, said that the emulation movement nationwide to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been widely deployed, truly spreading the spirit of mutual love, mutual assistance, national solidarity and arousing community responsibility in caring for the poor, the disadvantaged and people in special circumstances.
Hundreds of poor households with housing difficulties in Dak Nong province have been supported to build and repair spacious and solid houses, helping them stabilize their lives and confidently develop their economy.
In particular, the Fatherland Front at all levels has done a good job of connecting resources, monitoring, and mobilizing organizations and individuals to join hands to support, contribute labor and money to the program. Thereby, the movement not only has social security significance but also demonstrates the strength of the great national unity bloc, building new rural areas and sustainable poverty reduction, helping people stabilize their lives in the long term./.
