On June 26, Kien Giang Provincial Police reported that at around 5:00 a.m. the same day, the Immigration Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police coordinated with the Giong Rieng District Police and Vietnam International Travel Company Limited in Phu Quoc (referred to as Winner Company) to support the pick-up and carry out related procedures to take Zheng Huanyi (15 years old, from Thang Tu District, Zhejiang Province, China) to Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City to return home.

Accompanying and supporting, Mr. Ha Tuan Minh - Director of Vietnam International Travel Company Limited in Phu Quoc - said that Zheng Huanyi's family was in Thang Tu district. Zheng Huanyi's parents were divorced.

In 2019, Zheng Huanyi and his father went to Kien Giang for a trip. After that, Zheng Huanyi's father met a girl in Giong Rieng district (Kien Giang). However, a short time later, Zheng Huanyi's father left for unknown reasons.

Zheng Huanyi was abandoned and alone since then and has been living in a pagoda in Giong Rieng district. Zheng Huanyi speaks 3 languages: Chinese, Vietnamese and Cambodian…

"I accidentally learned that Zheng Huanyi was abandoned in Kien Giang. After that, the local police and I contacted the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to confirm the information," said Mr. Minh.

After confirming the information, Mr. Minh contacted Ms. Ten Wei (Zheng Huanyi's mother).

On June 24, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China sent a document to the Kien Giang Provincial Police asking for favorable conditions to help Zheng Huanyi return home. At this time, Ms. Ten Wei authorized Mr. Minh - Zheng Huanyi's legal representative - to complete the necessary procedures.

"The Kien Giang Provincial Police supported a lot. I only helped with the paperwork to bring Zheng Huanyi home. Zheng Huanyi's mother had already bought the plane ticket. Zheng Huanyi shared with me that she couldn't sleep all night because she was so happy and eager to reunite with her mother," Mr. Minh added.

Kien Giang Provincial Police provided maximum logistical support and a vehicle to take Zheng Huanyi to Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City. At exactly 12:55 pm the same day, a China Southern Airlines flight took off to bring Zheng Huanyi back to Vietnam after more than 5 years of being abandoned in Kien Giang.
